Moving Energy to Alleviate Depression

depressed-woman-at-the-street-picture-id644521222 From Stuck to Flowing

We all feel sad, lonely or depressed from time to time in our lives. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one or a disappointment we’re facing, feeling a heaviness at life for a period of time is natural. When that heaviness and lack of energy becomes our constant state of living however, we may be experiencing a more serious form of depression.

If you feel this constant state of depression in your life, you are not alone. In fact, Major depressive disorder affects approximately 14.8 million American adults. (Archives of General Psychiatry, 2005 Jun; 62(6): 617-27).

When you look at depression through the lens of Energy Medicine, there are many techniques you can use to help alleviate the symptoms of depression and regain a sense of vitality and joy in your life once again.

Depression is Stuck Energy

Quantum science teaches that everything in all of creation is energy – including you.  In it’s natural, unobstructed state, energy is meant to be constantly moving, especially inside the human system. However, we as humans, have the ability to shut down that energy flow when we worry, get angry or experience other undesired emotions.

The Protective Personality: Don’t Take it Personally

personality

There are more than seven billion people living on this planet which means more than seven billion personalities, opinions and ways of seeing the world. With so many diverse and varying ideologies and socio-cultural milieus, someone is bound to act in a way, or say something that upsets another.

The question is: Do we always have to take everything so personally? If not, how do we make what seems personal, impersonal?

Ego: Why We Take Things Personally
From the time we are young, usually before we’re even ten years old, situations or moments in life occur where we feel unsafe or insecure, or someone says something that makes us feel unlovable. When this happens, we begin to develop a second self, or a false self. That false self is often the “ego,” which I like to call the “protective personality” because no one likes to have an ego, but people don’t seem to mind having a “protective personality.”

Leadership, Love, and the Power of Vulnerability

Leadership, Love, and the Power of Vulnerability

There is always only one thing happening in your life…

It may not be evident at a glance. Yet, the one thing that is always happening is—the various aspects of your consciousness are continuously attempting to reunite.

As the aspects of you, both on the “inner” and in the “outer” world bump into each other and begin to weave together, a common question arises in life. We look “out there” and wonder, “How do I…put this piece together with those pieces?

In a given moment, we each may have a part of us that—

  • Wants to say yes, but another part that hesitates
  • Desires to show up for that new project engaged and excited, but another part that is frustrated
  • Is ready to lean deeply into a relationship and another part that struggles in it
  • Says, “I’m just not dealing with this uncomfortable feeling or even this exciting opportunity.”

We create a wobble in the flow, an obstacle or “gunk” on the path, when life becomes about right and wrong—the “me-ness” and the “you-ness.” What we have to do is bring the “pieces of us,” the me and the “you that we project out” back together into the oneness.

As we attempt to move from me-ness/you-ness to oneness, life shows up like friction.

Self-Care – The Most Important Thing You Can Do

hummingbird_selfcare

Have you heard someone say, “Self-care is the most important thing you can do?”

Perhaps… You perceive that self-care seems impossible because you feel like you are constantly on the run. You simply don’t have time for self-care.

When we’re constantly on the run, we outrun the experience of Self as a loving, present being that is fully abundant and capable of success. What happens In the process of constantly running is, we miss our greatness. The part of us that is capable of manifesting what we seek.

Perhaps you desire for life to be different, yet believe you have to keep up the pace.

If the idea of self-love, of feeling love, or the ability to take time to care for yourself seems elusive in your life… There’s a reason and, as irrational as it may seem to your thinking mind, that reason is not simply because you are busy with your family, your job, your household chores, or your lengthy to-do list.

When we keep running, there are certain energies that feel unfamiliar to us. Energies such as being seated in a state of abundance, well-being, and okayness.

We equate those kinds of feelings—well-being, okayness, or loving presence—at the opposite end of a spectrum. A spectrum where on the other end we perceive “being successful is…” when we acquire things or accomplish our goals and desires.

Imagine how different your life would be as you consciously allow light to become love with every breath you take.

Are You Saying “Yes” to Celebrating Life?

yogaworkout

Celebration is our natural state, yet sometimes we forget or that knowingness gets buried in the day-to-day of what we call “life.”

Perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way, because when you show up on a yoga mat (or in a chair), you are showing up for life in a celebratory way.

Humor me a moment before you run away at the mention of the word yoga. Whether you’ve never set foot on a yoga mat, have limited mobility, or have been doing yoga for decades, almost everyone, including you, can practice BodyAwake® Yoga.

Yes, it is a yoga practice, but it’s not simply moving the body into positions (asana or poses). It’s about the invisible. It’s about…

  • Intention and where you focus it
  • Breath and sensing the invisible energy that is You
  • Expanding by consciously meeting the contracted places
  • Training the mind to serve the heart
  • Anchoring the Soulful Self in the core of the body

Which is what “life” here on Earth is about. It’s about finding and fully revealing the True Self, here.

How to Use the Monkey Mind to Build Circuits

meditation

Have you tried to meditate to calm the mind and instead, felt even more frustrated as thoughts whirled round and round…the desired stillness not even a glimmer on the distant horizon?

Maybe you’ve never meditated or even desired to meditate, but are interested in the idea of stilling the mind.

When we are not identified as the thinking mind, we experience less pain. I am committed to providing sacred space for everyone to discover the distinctions between their true Essential Self and the false self—the thinking mind—that often runs our lives.

When we get caught in life’s circumstances and it feels challenging to access that subtle frequency, that still, sacred space, the question often arises, “How do I get not identified as the mind?”

Whether through guided meditations, The Energy Codes® coursework, or BodyAwake® Yoga, when we dial into and experience the subtle frequency in and around our physical body, the thickness of the space around us becomes palpable. This is sacred space. It’s the more of who you are.

You Steer Your Life as You Embody the Physical

portrait-of-a-cat-with-sunglasses-driving-a-car-picture-id1215945167

When we live life by looking for and finding “problems” to fix, this only makes us better at problem-solving.

Yet that is often how we experience life. Moving from one “problem” to another because as we “land” here on earth, we experience what I refer to as a “splat.”

The body goes one way, the mind goes another, the breath yet another way, and the spirit “hangs out” trying to figure out what’s what wondering, “How do I land here fully and live this life?”

This leaves us needing problems to fix in order to know who we are.

We operate from within that dispersed, problem-solving state as if this is how life is supposed to happen. You think, this is real and make do despite the sense of, something’s missing. Slowly, during the course of life you begin to pull yourself back together and start to feel more collected and connected.

Who do you identify as?

Embrace “No Big Deal” and Raise Your Vibrational Frequency

innerpeace

If you’re like many people, you want to know how to vibrate at a higher frequency.

Perhaps you’re someone who gets to a higher vibrational frequency when you meditate or do yoga. Then you step off the mat or cushion and, poof, that state of bliss is gone in an instant.

What I share in The Energy Codes® is how to masterfully work with and move the electromagnetic energy system that is who you are. As you discover how to do this in an intentional way a byproduct is your magnificence reveals and it’s no big deal. As we ignite the circuits to anchor more fully in our core, those higher vibrational experiences we seek in life become sustainable.

As we utilize the mind and breath, and anchor inside the core of the body, we’re able to open up patterns of self-healing and illumination. Your life experience changes. You change your relationships. You change your financial circumstances. You change any aspect of life you’re interested in transforming.

Life is not supposed to be complicated. We are the leader and creator of our life experience.

Is the Movie of Your Life a Blockbuster Hit?

movietake

This approach to life…it might not be a regular conversation at your family dinner table…

The view I’m referring to is, what you experience is what you want to experience, because you live inside of a movie You create.

You are a Creator. You write and produce your movie, the one that you call life. You cast yourself in the starring role. You agreed to the supporting cast in your movie, too.

You’re here, in this movie, waking yourself up to a version of you that you did not know existed. Perhaps a version of You you did not know was possible.

We project the movie we’ve written onto a movie screen. Instead of sitting down to watch the movie from our theater seat, we forget it’s a movie and get caught up in the story.

We, in our “splatted” state, step into the movie and think it’s real life. We think our experiences are happening to us. We forget that things are happening for us. We think other people are doing things that are hard for us to deal with.

Life…It’s About Building Circuitry

Life…It’s About Building Circuitry

“This is who you are and this is what you’re doing…” I say that often so that you’ll start to remember the truth—that you are a cosmic being.

My question for you is, how often do you remember that you are a truly cosmic being?

What I mean by that is, you’re made of the universe—you are universal energy. We, each of us, are the unified field of energy packed into a body. There are no exceptions.

We are this Soulful Self coming into a funnel, into a channel, into a body, and expressing out into the world. And our job here is to remember that’s what is really going on.

Pause a moment and ask yourself, “How many times, a day, a week, a year…do I remember, I AM a Cosmic Being that’s having an experience here on earth?” Rather than a human being thinking I’m seeking a spiritual experience.

Surrender, the Unexpected Key to Your Magnificence

sunset-pier-picture

Our desire to belong is a natural one. It is a desire many of us experience when we get stuck in our heads and feel disconnected.

We live in the mental body or the thinking mind, which perceives that something is missing—that we don’t belong. When we drop underneath the story the thinking mind writes, we realize we already belong. In fact, we cannot not belong.

It is our habits and patterns, the ways we perceive life, that keep us from perceiving our true magnificence.

The activity of the conscious mind is typically steeped in protection and performance. It writes stories to fill in the blank because it believes something is “missing.”

The mind attempts to do things like—carve a path for ourself, make sure we belong, or get approval and love. Those things start when we land here on earth, we energetically disperse or as I call it, “splat.” We’re not sure what happened, so we turn our attention externally to figure it out and prepare in case it happens again.

When our senses orient externally, we begin to need the external world to constantly give us feedback like, “Am I okay? Do I belong? Am I approved of? Am I enough?” Because of this misperception, that we need the outside for our sense of “okayness,” we focus “out there” instead of “in here,” to know if we belong. We end up with this giant void inside.

Is Healing a Choice?

sailing

When it comes to healing and how to heal, we often have so many questions. As we explore this, let’s start with a concept, which may be new to you—

There is nothing to heal, because there is nothing broken.

This may not be how a typical conversation about healing begins, so let’s tie it all together with an explanation about how our body and our life collaborate with each other. We live in a quantum reality and that quantum reality is what you’re truly interested in becoming masterful at.

Whether you are aware of this or not, there is a deep, true part of each of us that desires to walk and talk awake in this quantum reality as the creator and the healer that we truly are.

Everyone is capable of transforming their lives from victimized “reactorship” to empowered creatorship, because creativity is what we’re made of. It’s what we are here to do.

We are all capable of making this Quantum Flip® from victimhood to creatorship. No exceptions. Because we are made of creative energy itself and we are here to learn how to express and reveal that fully.

Remember those days when we used to travel? (I miss being in the room with all of you!) Back then, I’d meet people live and in-person who’d studied The Energy Codes® coursework for years. It was so inspiring to me, and still is, albeit virtually, that we’re reaching people all over the world because that is how we establish a different reality. We’ve created a new reality, despite, and because of, the circumstances.

Where Do We Begin to Know the Truth of Who We Are?

The Truth of Who We Are

Where do we begin to know the Truth of who we are so that we know ourselves as the self-healer we already are…

As we look at the biggest picture, there’s the unified field of energy. This unified field is the combination of all things and all non-things. It’s the manifest and the unmanifest world.

It’s everything there is. Nothing is missing. Yet we feel like something is missing when we are identified as the protective personality. We misperceive our ability to be a self-healer and heal. To be our “wholeness” in life and engage with others without reacting.

If we identify as the one who generates our life experience, instead of responding to “out there,” we are able to manifest the life we desire. This is the truth of who we are. Yet we often forget to consciously identify as the self-healer…

The missing key—we are made of love.

Who Do You Think You Are?

self-explore

Do you know that the deeper version of who we are has a vibrational signature?

Pause a moment, ask the following…

  • Are you living life as the Soulful Self or as a personality that’s compartmentalised itself with labels?
  • Are you doing the respectable, responsible thing?
  • Are you living a label based on somebody else’s “good idea” for you? A good idea you’re not even sure you desire to do or be.

Now check inside.

What does it mean to define ourselves and how we go about doing that?

Do you ever wonder, “Who am I?” Or question, “How have I decided to present myself to the world?”

Perhaps the definitions, conscious or unconscious, of who we think we are—our “types” or labels—might be running our life.

You might identify and define yourself consciously as: I’m a mother or father, a student, a doctor, an employee, a spiritual person, or a physically-strong and athletic person. Maybe it’s subconscious labels such as… I’m insecure or not enough. I’m supposed to be different than I am. I’m a logical or smart person.

No matter the label we choose, they are all limiting boxes.

Are You Willing to Choose Love Right Now?

heart-walks-off-into-the-sunset-over-sea-in-dark-clouds-past-love-picture-id1209551870

2021 is a year of movement—and it’s a wave you want to catch! We’ve all been paddling on our etheric surfboards for the past nine months and something is getting ready to birth. Perhaps you can’t quite see or feel it yet, but rest assured it’s happening…

In these times that may feel shaky and unstable, I want to share an option you can consciously choose in this moment…. Because you get to choose in each moment how you use your energies, resources and time.

This year is the perfect time to choose to step into your greater Self, because that is what humanity needs right now. For each of us to show up as our magnificence. For each of us to choose to stay in a place of loving possibility.

Rather than our tendency to push the discomfort away—to create distraction or become unfocused by what is unfolding “out there,” we must choose to go inward into the core Truth of who we are. Because we are not separate. We are a part of humanity and this is what humanity does. This tendency for a “contraction” or anchoring of energies out-pictures in various ways. We are experiencing an increase in domestic violence, in pandemic cases, in overdrinking or overeating, and in a lot of abrasiveness in the world that’s coming up and out as we try to deal with the pain or issues.

How to Cultivate True Willpower

will-power
Cultivating willpower is about [01:10] the ability to build circuitry to sustain yourself as the Soulful Self. If you’ve ever started something, a diet, a project, a new year’s resolution, and ran out of steam before completing, you’re not alone.

[01:46] It’s because you’re living as a compensation for your past if you don’t realize that we all land here in stressful circumstances and dysfunctional family dynamics in some way. Thus we need to learn how to build circuitry.

This happens because we are here to awaken to a greater version of life than we see on the outside. [02:58] And because we don’t know that, we look to the outside for a sign that “I’m okay.”

How to Recognize the Gifts in Your Life

girl-with-flower-picture-id1014834536 The soul speaks to the body and the body speaks to the mind
Recognize your gifts to [00:44] turn challenges into benefits. When I teach, [01:15] 100’s of people I often ask, “How many of you feel like you don’t fit in?” Or “You’re the only one who feels like something is broken or wrong with you?” Almost 100% of the hands go up. You are not alone. The mind thinks it’s alone when it is not connected to the true, essential Self.

Here we are, splatted on earth and [02:05] the true Self is hanging out wondering, “Will it ever be safe to fully show up and live freely?” [03:00] We become identified as the mind and at some point in your life’s journey, you learn to peel off of the mind with its beliefs and illusions that we are not enough or that things shouldn’t be happening this way. And consciously reconnect as our authentic Self.

[04:05] You are made of energy—pure consciousness compressed into a body. Discover how to unattached from your mind so that you know who you truly are—the Soulful Self—who has a mind and a body. A mind and a body that are here to serve your full life experience here on earth.

What Defines You?

whatdefinesyou Open your heart, soften and melt.
Dr. Sue Morter from Morter Institute Consciously shares how to build neurocircuitry to so that you accurately define who you think you are.

You are infinite potential and possibility. And if that feels unattainable, I understand because I was intimidated growing up. And became super hard on myself to compensate because I didn't know who I was. So I invite you to take a “time out” and make sure you are doing what you desire? Ask yourself  do you feel love inside your body? You can generate the love inside on command.

Open your heart, soften and melt. Breathe in the central channel.
Take it to the body to recognize the real definition of you as pure potential. You begin to connect the dots when you let go of the labels and boxes you’ve used to define yourself.  And you start to let go when you focus on, “Do I feel love inside my body all day long?” So that you build the circuitry to become masterful at life.

Self Care: The Most Important Thing You Can Do

young-business-woman-working-at-the-computer-in-cafe-on-the-rock-picture-id1202974976 Come home to the Self
Self-care is something most of us seek, or desire to seek. It feels elusive because we hit the ground running and don't stop. Self-care is a byproduct of being present.

So how to do self-care? When we feel intimidated or twist ourselves into a knot to try to fit in
, we are running from our greatness & our ability to self-care. Discover how to build circuits and infuse love into your protective patterns so that you stop running. Self-care is a byproduct that occurs when we stop.

So what exactly is self-care?
It is not ignoring your true self because that action leads to the belief that you need a type of self-care that often feels inaccessible.

Come home to the Self. Breathe more deeply in your belly
, feel those uncomfortable feelings, & open your heart. Train you mind to get off the story  that you are not enough or that life is hard. The result is life is a delight and self-care just is.
