Trusting that Still, Small Voice

man-at-the-sunrise-picture-id490726872 Trusting that Still, Small Voice

Have you ever had a gut feeling, decided not to listen to it, and then later regretted that decision?

This has been the case for so many people. In the last 30 years of my work, talking with tens of thousands of individuals, nearly all have said they regretted ignoring their gut feelings. In fact, never in all those years have I heard someone say, “I had this gut feeling, this inner voice, and I went with it, and boy do I regret it.”

It’s time to do the math. When we regret ignoring that small, inner voice 100% of the time, we should learn that trusting it is the obvious way to go.

We know we should listen to that gut feeling, and yet we override that small voice all the time because we doubt it; we think we’re not enough; we think we couldn’t possibly know more than the authorities or those who have come before us and so on. What we must understand is that we are built of creativity and are destined to come up with new answers and solutions –  to bring new ideas that work and to be innovative –  and oftentimes those ideas start with that small, inner feeling in our gut.

Making The Quantum Flip™: Changing Discipline to Devotion

morning-yoga-childs-pose-picture-id515675096 Making The Quantum Flip™: Changing Discipline to Devotion

If there was one thing that could make you more successful, prevent depression, and allow you to maintain healthy weight, would you do it? What if I told you it had nothing to do with working out or eating right?

We all know that maintaining a consistent physical practice as well as healthy eating habits positively affects our physical, emotional and mental well-being. However, there is something more than simply maintaining a dedicated routine that brings even greater benefits to our lives.

More important than the routines, is who we are when we do them.

When we go about our daily routines, we do have to maintain consistency, but we must do it in a vibrational frequency that is closer to the truth of who we are.  Our vibrational frequency has everything to do with who we perceive ourselves to be which plays a role in the state of our choices, disposition, orientation in the world, sense of self and our ability to maintain clarity and consistency in our lives.

The Ocean Never Stops

waves The Ocean Never Stops

One wave after another, tiny or tremendous, they just keep coming. This is Life.

What do you name the waves?
Challenging?
Frightening?
Hurtful?
Miracles?
Blessings?
Disillusioning?
Enlightening?

Wave after wave. They just move through. They just “Go.” And they come and they go … and go and go and go. They never stop.

There is always an opportunity for another. If this one passed you by and there wasn’t really a chance to “hold on” to anything before you noticed it flowing right on through your life, no to worry, there will be another.

Building Circuits: Awakening Through A Vibrational Frequency

atom-abstract-scientific-background-picture-id934061146 Building Circuits: Awakening Through A Vibrational Frequency

If you’ve ever attended my Energy Codes® coursework, watched a video of mine or heard me on an interview, you’ve probably heard me mention, “building circuits” more than a few times. I speak about circuits and building circuits frequently for this reason: the amount of energetic circuits we create in our body is the key to living an expansive and magnificent life.

But what are circuits exactly, and why do we need to build them?

Building Circuitry from the Authentic Self

When we come into this world, we are born with a certain amount of circuitry in place that affects our experience of this world.

Based on our unique circuitry present when we are born, we begin to develop a particular, and often times limited, way of interacting with everything and everyone around us. Our innate responses to life and others – whether it be parents, teachers, bosses or friends - are all based upon the circuitry established in our system from an early age. It’s as if the specific set of circuitry present in our system determines how we see and react to the world, which then reinforces those same beliefs and experiences, thereby strengthening the existing circuitry.

Heart racing; sweaty palms; shortness of breath and a knot in your stomach the size of a grapefruit. If you’ve experienced these sensations in your body, you’re most likely one of the millions who have been affected by anxiety disorder.

In our fast-paced society, anxiety affects a staggering number of adults. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, an estimated 40 million adults in the United States are affected by anxiety alone. Approximately 65% of North Americans take prescription medication daily to help offset the disorder and of those, a reported 43% take mood altering prescriptions regularly.

lonely-woman-sitting-alone-on-a-bench-picture-id957926688 From Stuck to Flowing: Moving Energy to Alleviate Depression

We all feel sad, lonely or depressed from time to time in our lives. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one or a disappointment we’re facing, feeling a heaviness at life for a period of time is natural. When that heaviness and lack of energy becomes our constant state of living however, we may be experiencing a more serious form of depression.

If you feel this constant state of depression in your life, you are not alone. In fact, Major depressive disorder affects approximately 14.8 million American adults. (Archives of General Psychiatry, 2005 Jun; 62(6): 617-27).

When you look at depression through the lens of Energy Medicine, there are many techniques you can use to help alleviate the symptoms of depression and regain a sense of vitality and joy in your life once again.

From Anti-Aging to Eternal Being: Embracing the Sage

aginggrace From Anti-Aging to Eternal Being: Embracing the Sage

Aging is a natural process occurring for each of us, although it’s one we’ve been taught to resist. With the numerous serums, health products and procedures promising to help win the battle against aging, many are caught up in this constant “fight” against aging and left desperately looking for the next miracle product to stop or even reverse the natural effects of time’s passing. In fact, so pervasive is this growing resistance to the aging process that, according to Orbis Research, “the global anti-aging market is estimated to reach $331.41 billion by 2021.”

The fact is, there is no miracle product or serum. Aging is going to happen, but it doesn’t have to be a struggle. When it comes to our views on aging, there is a deeper truth we can embrace, and one which would benefit us greatly as a society.

Currently, our culture places our value on external appearances. We obsess about how we’re perceived, how we get ahead by the way people perceive us, if we’re going to be respected, or if we’re going to get the attention that we need, etc. It’s a focus that leaves us constantly looking for validation and our worth from the outside in.

However, in a time not too long ago, there was more value placed on the internal aspect of our life. The wise old sage was the most coveted individual in the tribe. He or she was the leader of the people, the most respected, and the one whom everyone looked to for guidance.

Don’t Take it Personally: The Protective Personality

unhappy-woman-looking-through-the-window-picture-id806822594 Don’t Take it Personally: The Protective Personality

There are more than seven billion people living on this planet which means more than seven billion personalities, opinions and ways of seeing the world. With so many diverse and varying ideologies and socio-cultural milieus, someone is bound to act in a way, or say something that upsets another.

The question is: Do we always have to take everything so personally? If not, how do we make what seems personal, impersonal?

Ego: Why We Take Things Personally
From the time we are young, usually before we’re even ten years old, situations or moments in life occur where we feel unsafe or insecure, or someone says something that makes us feel unlovable. When this happens, we begin to develop a second self, or a false self. That false self is often the “ego,” which I like to call the “protective personality” because no one likes to have an ego, but people don’t seem to mind having a “protective personality.”
