Before Steve Farrell co-founded Humanity’s Team with bestselling author Neale Donald Walsch, he co-founded and led two high-growth technology companies based in Silicon Valley in the 1990s that spanned across both the United States and Europe, were featured on the INC 500 list, and were each operating at more than $75 million in revenue.

By that time, Steve was also an officer in both the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization and the Young President’s Organization, but he walked away from all of it when he felt a calling to instead play an active role in creating a movement that could help people across the globe connect more deeply with the Oneness of all of Life and the Divine energy of the Universe.

Steve is the Worldwide Executive Director of  Humanity’s Team and a member of the Evolutionary Leadership Council. He lives with his wife Stephanie and his two children in Boulder, Colorado.

The millions of men and women who are showing up every day

scientists-studying-a-virus-looking-through-microscope-picture-id1215565992 The millions of men and women who are showing up every day

Stephanie and I recently enjoyed a week in the Colorado Rockies with Dylan, Sophie, and their friends. I knew this was going to be a relaxing few days away from the normal (and wonderful) busyness of the Humanity’s Team workday and that we’d have a great time being together hiking and riding bikes, sharing meals, conversation, and laughter.

What I didn’t expect to happen was that within the deep relaxation of the physical body and mental mind, my heart exploded open in gratitude for what’s come to be known as the front-line workers of the 2020 pandemic and also those who knowingly or unknowingly are helping to raise the consciousness of humanity, including George Floyd and John Lewis, who recently yielded their physical form.

Here in the United States, and all over the planet, people are taking a stand for what they believe in. They are raising their voices and bodies in the demand for justice, equality, and kindness.

(To make sure that I communicate my strong belief in inclusiveness to you as well as I’m able, I want also to say that I believe those who respond to the protests are also standing for what they believe in. After all, who of us is called to judge the Divine unfolding?)

Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness

Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness

There is something really important that is not getting much attention in the media or on social networks, so I’m going to share my thoughts about it with you today..

It is the pivot that is necessary as we come out of COVID-19, the death of George Floyd, and other injustice occurring in today’s world.

We must shift from an unconscious pattern of living on the Earth to a conscious design and an elevated humanity supporting the well-being and balance for all living species.

Our way of living on the Earth is not sustainable. We’ve lost our sense of cohesion with nature, the Divine, and life. Collectively, we’ve been barreling down a dangerous path toward a future that leaves our children and future generations very exposed.

And we can all feel the effects of this now.

Overcoming Limitations and Living a Life of Possibility

beautiful-sunset-cloudscape-picture-id175489837 Overcoming Limitations and Living a Life of Possibility

You may have noticed that the Universe seems to be demanding a lot of us right now.

It’s demanding that we stay patient, and brave, and that we be far more careful than we’ve ever had to be in our lives.

It hasn’t been easy to meet those demands, and it continues to be a challenge.

Even with stay at home orders relaxing in most countries around the world, there’s still great concern that Covid cases could begin to rise again if we don’t maintain our social distancing measures.

On the other hand, it’s also coming to light that the lack of physical contact and face-to-face, in-person interaction with others for all these months has taken a heavy toll on the mental health of many people, and depression is fast on the rise worldwide, across the full spectrum of age groups, from grade-school children to those in their 80s and 90s.

We simply aren’t wired to be apart like this.

Tending to the ‘Inner Garden’

When we moved to our home in Colorado 13 years ago, my wife Stephanie and I decided to plant a vegetable garden.

This season we’re growing arugula, cucumbers, peas, radishes, tomatoes, and mint.

The Divine is Here Now so Let us ‘Serve Life First’

make-this-world-a-brighter-place-picture-id888343166 The Divine is Here Now so Let us ‘Serve Life First’

I hope and trust that you and your family are safe and feeling comfortable. All of us in Humanity’s Team are here for you and with you during this challenging time.

As we enter the third month of the global pandemic, people have many questions on their minds about health, finances, safety, and, in general, what the re-opening of the world will look like.

None of us have answers to those kinds of questions. But as the old saying goes, time will tell.

This question, though—the one I’m hearing being asked with both sincerity and anger—is one I believe I do have an answer to… “Where is God in all of this?”

Some are saying that since we don’t want anything to do with God in our schools, at work, and in public discourse, God has retreated.

I heard one version of that sentiment that goes like this (and please forgive the overuse of the male pronoun)…

He, being a gentleman, has deserted us and left us to our own devices. If we don’t want anything to do with God, He says “fine” and departs our life. We are now left alone to fend for ourselves during the pandemic.

How does that sit with you?

I believe the idea that God has left us is the furthest thing from the truth.

I believe the Divine is very present now and is speaking to each of us who are willing to hear.

I believe the Divine actually has always been present sharing messages of love, hope, and possibility but we’ve mostly been too busy to really hear Her/His messages.

Now, as many of us find ourselves less busy and more available, there is an opening where we can take time for silence and really listen for and hear the Divine speaking to us.

Getting Deeply in Touch with the Divine

divinenatue Getting Deeply in Touch with the Divine

When I read the morning news, most of what I see are stories about people wanting to move past the pandemic. They’d like things to return to normal; they’d like things to be the way they were before.

This is true even for people who were terribly unhappy with their lives, because for them the comfort of the known far outweighs the fear of the unknown.

But there are others who see a gift resting quietly in the misfortune and sadness that enfolds the Earth.

Certainly, those who feel there’s a gift within this crisis also hold great compassion for those in pain, and they lovingly appreciate the souls who, on some level mysteriously unknown to us, have agreed to leave the planet during this pandemic.

But there is more going on than the universal opening of hearts to others. Much more.

Shaking is Meant for Shifting

concerned-healthcare-worker-looking-through-a-window-picture-id1215311167 Shaking is Meant for Shifting

For me and many of the people I’ve spoken to who are part of the stay-at-home population, it feels like one day is rolling right into the next with not that much changing in any given 24-hour period.

Of course, if we’re working from home or home-schooling our children or are caregivers for our loved ones, the details of each day are numerous and ever-changing.

But it’s the general tone of the day that I’m speaking about...

I’m wondering about that question mark that’s hanging over the planet.

What is this shaking up of the world as we know it ushering in?

What will our personal and collective lives look like in a few months…

And in a few years?

Though there have been a few other pandemics over the last hundred years or so, never before have we experienced the repercussions of a pandemic like the one enfolding the whole of the planet today.

Time to focus on ‘better’ — not ‘bigger’ or ‘more’

boyman-about-to-make-a-decision-picture-id170096596 Time to focus on ‘better’ — not ‘bigger’ or ‘more’

All of us in Humanity’s Team hope you and yours are navigating the lockdown with peace and equanimity. We know how challenging it can be to find quiet space at home, attend to kids, and support seniors who might have special needs.

I’m writing to you today about something that has emerged as an urgent priority during the Coronavirus pandemic.

This urgency is that we not let the opportunity slip away from us to transform the ‘pause’ we are currently experiencing in our communities and in the world. Pause means temporary stop. Generally, when we move past ‘pause,’ we continue in the same direction.

It is time to rebuild

latin-american-volunteers-working-hard-at-a-charity-construction-picture-id1190692184 It is time to rebuild

Much of the unconscious world is collapsing under its own weight.

Many forms of commerce are hitting full stop. Ships are idle. Planes are empty. Even automobiles are parked without riders.

As old establishments fail, this is making room for new institutions and ways of living that are more fruitful and productive.

There will be some rebuilding of the old norm but, in many cases, new organizations will offer something fresh, something new, something conscious.

Those of us on the conscious journey have been calling forth a new humanity and a new earth.

Could it be that we’ve found our moment in the midst of so much challenge and hardship?

Perhaps.

A friend of mine, who is a gifted attorney, is leaving his lucrative practice to create educational programs for conscious professionals. This is a calling so, even though it is scary on many levels, he is moving forward with plans.

How about you ? What are you being called to at this time?

Perceiving through Pygmalion

rainoweye Perceiving through Pygmalion

Today I’d like to share with you a well-documented phenomenon called The Pygmalion Effect.

The name is derived from the mythical Greek character, Pygmalion, who had carved such a beautiful statue that he fell in love with it...and brought her to life.

In other words, Pygmalion’s perception of this seemingly inanimate rock as a beautiful living woman  changed its very nature into a beautiful living woman.

The effect was popularized by a study that showed that teachers’ perceptions of their students impacted their students’ innate IQ level. When the teacher perceived a particular student as an “intellectual bloomer” (even if this held no measurable validity), that student became an intellectual bloomer.

The Pygmalion Effect then can be seen as a self-fulfilling prophecy…

How to play your role during these severely challenging times - coronavirus

woman-hands-holding-burning-heartshaped-candle-picture-id1156845105 How to play your role during these severely challenging times - coronavirus

I know how challenging things must be in your home, your office and in your life. Most people I know feel they are on an emotional roller coaster due to the Coronavirus and fears surrounding their health and economic well-being.

At times like this we can be severely tested. We can feel things are falling apart even though our faith in the Divine says things are falling together.

If we stay centered in our relationship with the Divine (there is no separation) and we feel deeply into our own connection to Presence, we will find all the things we thought had gone missing.

We will find certainty.

We will find inner wisdom that will guide us.
And we will find our calling to support those who need our assistance.
