Before Steve Farrell co-founded Humanity’s Team with bestselling author Neale Donald Walsch, he co-founded and led two high-growth technology companies based in Silicon Valley in the 1990s that spanned across both the United States and Europe, were featured on the INC 500 list, and were each operating at more than $75 million in revenue.

By that time, Steve was also an officer in both the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization and the Young President’s Organization, but he walked away from all of it when he felt a calling to instead play an active role in creating a movement that could help people across the globe connect more deeply with the Oneness of all of Life and the Divine energy of the Universe.

Steve is the Worldwide Executive Director of  Humanity’s Team and a member of the Evolutionary Leadership Council. He lives with his wife Stephanie and his two children in Boulder, Colorado.

Are You Willing to Live Consciously... Especially when times are challenging?

stevef9.25

It seems that for many in our community, a sense of temporary reprieve has been replaced with yet another round of stressful and challenging situations, including human rights, physical/emotional/mental health, financial, and otherwise. Granted, there are people all over the world who are dealing with these and more every day, and we are holding them in our hearts and prayers.

It is not difficult for any of us to feel into what are often called lower frequencies. These would include worry, anger, fear, thoughts of revenge, and perhaps even disappointment that life just won’t smooth out.

“Here we go again” is a sentiment I keep hearing from friends, family, co-workers, and even people I make casual conversation with when out in the world.

We may have the best of intentions to stay in high vibration and not allow ourselves to be gripped by these lower frequencies, but once we take a step in that direction, the slope downward is slippery and takes supreme commitment to climb back up.

It’s Never ‘If Only…’ Because Divine Flow Keeps Our Cup Overflowing

overflowing

Do you know people who are constantly saying things like…

If only I had a better job…

If only I had more money…

If only my partner was [fill in the blank]...

If only I was blessed like [fill in the blank]...

Perhaps you sometimes feel this way, too. If so, don’t beat yourself up; it’s a fairly common human response to challenges and setbacks.

However, I’ve realized that the truth of Conscious Living is that it’s never “If Only…”

Remain Vigilant for Love and Life with Divine Guideposts

springbirds

Most of the people in our Humanity’s Team community would probably say that they’re very familiar with practices of gratitude and appreciation and that a commitment to these practices is foundational to their conscious journey. I would say it’s true for me.

And as I’m guessing it is the same for you, I wake up in gratitude every morning. I bring that deep sense of gladness into the day, intentionally tapping into the feelings of awe, wonder, and appreciation.

I notice the glorious sunlight shining upon the spiderweb just below the gutter when I let Sadie out for a quick run around the house. I hear the melodic sounds of birds singing in the neighborhood trees and bushes as I sip on my coffee.

I feel the connection with all of life. It is my communion with the Divine.

Poetry For Our Conscious Journey

poetry

It’s National Poetry Month here in the U.S. and I’ve been rereading some of my favorites and thinking about how poetry is the perfect vehicle for communicating both the individual and universal at once...

It gives shape to the human experience, and can be a place for profound connection as well as a lens into other ways of seeing and being in the world.

The poet Jane Hirshfield goes as far as saying, “Poetry itself is an instrument of resilience,” and I think we could all use a little resilience these days...

So today, I’d like to share a few lines of poetry with you that speak to the conscious journey we are on together in hopes that they will provide you that sense of connection with others that many of us are sorely missing these days, as well as fuel to cultivate resilience during challenging times:

Be in a Constant State of Discovery... Our Life Is the Divine Unfolding

discovery
Why look for God?….
Look for the one looking for God…
but then Why look at all?…
He is not lost…
He is right here…
~ Rumi

As many of you know, my life—both personal and professional—is focused on the conscious journey. And I am sure that it’s the same for most of you, too.

But what does this really mean?

And maybe more importantly, what does the conscious journey look like and how does it feel?

For me, it’s about being present with the moment at hand, be it comfortable or uncomfortable, exciting or ordinary. It’s about being in surrender to Divine Life as it flows through me.

It’s all about being in a constant state of discovery.

The Benefits of Nurturing Your Soul For a Life of Impact

forthesoul

Often at this time of year, people spend some time reflecting and feeling into the direction they’d like their lives to go, and efforts they’d like to take to get there.

Some people set goals to accomplish things or experience something on their bucket list, while others set goals to change habits that aren’t serving them.

Often people focus their goals on things they think will make them happier or healthier, like losing the quarantine fifteen and eating healthy, or exercising to stay, or become, physically fit.

Your Home Is With You Always - For It Is the Light of Your Inner Sanctuary

Home…

It is a powerful word, a word which, for me, simultaneously evokes a vision of material structure and a feeling of inner sanctuary.

These months of the pandemic have been challenging for many. And I am well aware of the emotional weight resulting from loss and fear. Here in our own Humanity’s Team work environment, there have been several stories of illness and death related to the coronavirus.

My heart is open and full of compassion and love for all those affected and struggling.

I also can’t help but notice with these many months of sequester and seclusion, that life seems to have provided a material answer to a collective yearning for home in a spiritual sense.

What is this call to go home, to be home, and to feel at home?

Open Your Heart and Share Your Light with the World

light There is no need to hide anymore

For many, this is the Season of Light, a time of joy and celebration, a season for appreciation and giving.

For my family, Christmas can’t come soon enough and we’ve already begun sitting together in the evenings, taking turns choosing our favorite holiday songs to sing. I especially love “Silent Night.”

One of my teammates celebrated Diwali with her family the middle of last month, and another is beginning to prepare for the eight days of Chanukkah, her family’s traditional festival of lights.

Another member of our team is a student and teacher of A Course in Miracles which says, “Each of us is the light of the world, and by joining our minds in this light we proclaim the Kingdom of God together and as one.” (ACIM, T-6.II.13:5)

Looking at light more secularly, in just a few short weeks, the days here in my part of the world will grow longer, giving us more daylight to enjoy nature walks and other daytime activities.

Love – Let’s do this together

college-student-friends-huddle-together-picture-id936492246 Resetting Humanity to a New Way of Living on the Earth

When I reflect on my path to this moment in time, I understand without a doubt that it was no accident.

In the late 1990s, outside of mystical circles, there was little awareness of “Oneness” or the notion of “living into the Unity of all of Life,” and I felt certain this was a root cause of the challenges our world was facing.

I believed then (and still do) that there can be no true wholeness, health and well-being in the world as long as there are so many people who feel separate from others and from the Earth itself.

Even though these things were clear to me at that time, I wasn’t yet sure how to best address them in a meaningful way.

In 1999, I was sitting in my office in Silicon Valley, wondering what role I might be able to play in creating a U-turn into a more conscious world.

I’d co-founded a company called Netigy, and at that time, Netigy occupied a 45,000 square-foot building and had leased another 90,000 square-foot building next door to support our future growth…

And while I was definitely tasting the American Dream, it was already clear to me that this was not what my life was to be about.

The Power of Love: Resetting Humanity to a New Way of Living on the Earth.

earth-picture-id1181076049 Love is the ultimate truth

Rabindranath Tagore, Bengali poet and Nobel Prize winner, is quoted as saying, “Only in love are unity and duality not in conflict.”

In one sense, this concept seems so easy to grasp, so simple and so obvious, especially to those of us leading a conscious, intentional life.

But our world, on a global scale, needs a reminder.

Much of the strife we experience and witness today is because of ideas of false separation, ones that enable people to behave in ways that dehumanize, exploit, and divide.

But together, we who live in Oneness and with the Divine energy of the Universe working through us, can be a collective force for change.

Take a deep breath in and for a moment imagine the ideal world where everyone understands Oneness and Love is the great motivator…

Then imagine thousands and thousands of people coming together from all over the globe to hold this intention, to expand awareness, to change the frequency, to hit the metaphorical reset button.

This is, in fact, the focus of “The Power of Love: Resetting Humanity to a New Way of Living on the Earth,” the 11th annual Global Oneness Summit and the first-ever International Shout Out Love Day…

When We Volunteer... We Understand That We Are One

female-volunteer-bringing-groceries-to-a-senior-woman-at-home-picture-id1214126038 Building relationship and communion with Source

No one can deny that there are a lot of challenging things going on in the world right now.

Here in the United States, unprecedented wildfires are spreading so quickly that containment seems out of reach. Racial unrest and political tensions show no sign of diminishing. Across the globe, coronavirus cases continue to spike while explosions, collapsing mines, earthquakes, and monsoon rains are overpowering our human desire for stability and safety.

It’s no wonder that a lot of people feel at a loss as to what they can do to help or make a difference. But there’s always some way we can assist another or nurture our planet, and when we decide to offer ourselves in service, it’s always a blessing, never a sacrifice.

The Alchemy of Intention ~ We are changing the world

water-drops-on-green-leaf-picture-id125143094 We are all here to play our part!

Last week I wrote to you about how the choice we make to be in true, conscious Relationship with the Divine manifests not only as a covenant with the One Presence, but also with one another.

I also talked about how being in conscious Relationship inspires a decision to be in service to all of life—including other people, nature, our planet, and our own Divine Self.

Ever since I put those words to paper (so to speak), I’ve wondered about the people in our community, and in the world, who aren’t yet sure what that broader view of service looks like.

They may sometimes feel uplifted and inspired…

They may have experienced an inkling of personal transformation…

They may even have developed a mental strategy of what they might do.

But do they have the willingness to go from a deep feeling of Relationship and a personal plan for change into a mature and disciplined life of consistent asking, receiving, and giving?

Will You Choose Relationship with the Divine? - It is the simple path Will You Choose Relationship with the Divine? - It is the simple path

We all have our own term for that which is First Cause, Universal Intelligence, Eternal Peace, Perfect Joy, Love.

But words can only go so far, and no matter what term we use to express this deep, heartfelt knowing, the term itself remains beautiful in its limitation.

This is because we, as part of the Divine, are forever and eternally extending the Divine through our unique, blessed, ever-expanding Communication of Love.

Is there anything else you’d rather feel?

Is there any other way you’d rather be?

We have a choice.

Do your actions inspire others?

dreaming-of-flying-picture-id936435326 Do your actions inspire others?

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more; you are a leader.”

—John Quincy Adams, America’s sixth president and author of the Monroe Doctrine

America was founded on the willingness of everyday people to stand up for what they believe and inspire others to do the same. It is the single, most breathtaking aspect of humanity that, in times of great turmoil and strife, simple individuals step up and become something awesome to behold—they become expressions of the Divine.

It is in this convergence of spiritual people becoming active and active people becoming spiritual that the hope of humanity now rests.

If you want to See the Change, Be the Change.

We have within us a miraculous power

thai-buddhist-monk-walks-barefoot-on-an-alms-round-picture-id187028423 We have within us a miraculous power

“We have within us a miraculous power, and if we live our daily lives in mindfulness, if we take steps mindfully, with love and care, we can produce the miracle and transform our world into a miraculous place to live.” — Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, and founder of the Plum Village Tradition

Mindfulness. Presence. Omniscient Wisdom.

These are always right at our fingertips—right here, right now—if only we decide to  claim our rightful inheritance as Divine Co-creators with God.

Many have. And many more are with each passing moment because we are in the time of the Great Awakening. Can you feel it?

We here at Humanity’s Team live and breathe this conscious awareness every day as we come together in collaboration to communicate and share the message of Love, Connection, and Oneness with the world.

We’ve accepted the invitation  to live this way, to bridge any previous gaps between workday and home life, and to share with others, who are receptive to the message, the inevitable grace and ease that come with conscious awareness.

What does this feel like?

The millions of men and women who are showing up every day

scientists-studying-a-virus-looking-through-microscope-picture-id1215565992 The millions of men and women who are showing up every day

Stephanie and I recently enjoyed a week in the Colorado Rockies with Dylan, Sophie, and their friends. I knew this was going to be a relaxing few days away from the normal (and wonderful) busyness of the Humanity’s Team workday and that we’d have a great time being together hiking and riding bikes, sharing meals, conversation, and laughter.

What I didn’t expect to happen was that within the deep relaxation of the physical body and mental mind, my heart exploded open in gratitude for what’s come to be known as the front-line workers of the 2020 pandemic and also those who knowingly or unknowingly are helping to raise the consciousness of humanity, including George Floyd and John Lewis, who recently yielded their physical form.

Here in the United States, and all over the planet, people are taking a stand for what they believe in. They are raising their voices and bodies in the demand for justice, equality, and kindness.

(To make sure that I communicate my strong belief in inclusiveness to you as well as I’m able, I want also to say that I believe those who respond to the protests are also standing for what they believe in. After all, who of us is called to judge the Divine unfolding?)

Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness

Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness

There is something really important that is not getting much attention in the media or on social networks, so I’m going to share my thoughts about it with you today..

It is the pivot that is necessary as we come out of COVID-19, the death of George Floyd, and other injustice occurring in today’s world.

We must shift from an unconscious pattern of living on the Earth to a conscious design and an elevated humanity supporting the well-being and balance for all living species.

Our way of living on the Earth is not sustainable. We’ve lost our sense of cohesion with nature, the Divine, and life. Collectively, we’ve been barreling down a dangerous path toward a future that leaves our children and future generations very exposed.

And we can all feel the effects of this now.

Overcoming Limitations and Living a Life of Possibility

beautiful-sunset-cloudscape-picture-id175489837 Overcoming Limitations and Living a Life of Possibility

You may have noticed that the Universe seems to be demanding a lot of us right now.

It’s demanding that we stay patient, and brave, and that we be far more careful than we’ve ever had to be in our lives.

It hasn’t been easy to meet those demands, and it continues to be a challenge.

Even with stay at home orders relaxing in most countries around the world, there’s still great concern that Covid cases could begin to rise again if we don’t maintain our social distancing measures.

On the other hand, it’s also coming to light that the lack of physical contact and face-to-face, in-person interaction with others for all these months has taken a heavy toll on the mental health of many people, and depression is fast on the rise worldwide, across the full spectrum of age groups, from grade-school children to those in their 80s and 90s.

We simply aren’t wired to be apart like this.

The Divine is Here Now so Let us ‘Serve Life First’

make-this-world-a-brighter-place-picture-id888343166 The Divine is Here Now so Let us ‘Serve Life First’

I hope and trust that you and your family are safe and feeling comfortable. All of us in Humanity’s Team are here for you and with you during this challenging time.

As we enter the third month of the global pandemic, people have many questions on their minds about health, finances, safety, and, in general, what the re-opening of the world will look like.

None of us have answers to those kinds of questions. But as the old saying goes, time will tell.

This question, though—the one I’m hearing being asked with both sincerity and anger—is one I believe I do have an answer to… “Where is God in all of this?”

Some are saying that since we don’t want anything to do with God in our schools, at work, and in public discourse, God has retreated.

I heard one version of that sentiment that goes like this (and please forgive the overuse of the male pronoun)…

He, being a gentleman, has deserted us and left us to our own devices. If we don’t want anything to do with God, He says “fine” and departs our life. We are now left alone to fend for ourselves during the pandemic.

How does that sit with you?

I believe the idea that God has left us is the furthest thing from the truth.

I believe the Divine is very present now and is speaking to each of us who are willing to hear.

I believe the Divine actually has always been present sharing messages of love, hope, and possibility but we’ve mostly been too busy to really hear Her/His messages.

Now, as many of us find ourselves less busy and more available, there is an opening where we can take time for silence and really listen for and hear the Divine speaking to us.
