Messages That Are Heaven Scent!

applepie Messages That Are Heaven Scent!

There are many different types of symbols and messages that those in Spirit can send us. One of the more common ways our loved ones can communicate with us is through our sense of smell. Scents have an amazing power to vividly bring back memories that we may have long forgotten. When we smell a freshly baked apple pie, it may bring up loving memories of a grandmother, or the smell of the ocean could conjure up memories of happy days spent on your dad’s boat.

Stop and think for a minute right now what scents bring back special memories for you. Mine would have to be the aroma of my mom’s Italian cooking, which brings back memories of Mom giving us samples as she cooked.

All too often, these signs are quite subtle. For example, if your dad used to smoke cigars in his lifetime and one day for no reason, you smell cigar smoke, don’t be alarmed. Obviously, check that there’s no one in the house actually smoking a cigar. If not, then it might be your dad’s way of saying, “I just wanted to let you know that I’m here with you.”

How to Cope with the Loss of Your Life Partner

angel How to Cope with the Loss of Your Life Partner

Many people find it hard to move on when they lose a spouse or a partner. While some feel guilty, others think they’re cheating on the person who has passed. And then there are others who say they don’t deserve to be happy and choose to go through the rest of their life alone.

Those on the Other-Side don’t want us to linger in pain or be alone. They know that as humans, we need to touch and to be touched, to hold and be held, and above all that, we’re meant to love and to be loved. There’s never any judgment from them when it comes to affairs of the heart. When you feel you cannot get out of bed because of your sadness, it is them who gently push you forward.

To cope with the loss of your life partner, here’s the best advice I can give you: Your loved ones wouldn’t want you to suffer alone, so I recommend that you talk to someone about your feelings, be it a close friend or a professional therapist. It doesn’t help if you shut yourself off from those who were part of your life when you were a couple.

Pizza Girl’s Dad Gets His Wish

pizzagirl Pizza Girl’s Dad Gets His Wish

Growing up half Italian and eating my mom’s cooking, I’m always up for a good pizza. One night, I met some friends, and we found the perfect spot for the “best pizza in town.” I think we all drooled with expectation as our lovely waitress came to take our order.

As she came back with a full tray of drinks, she looked directly at me. “Oh my God! It’s you! I have to tell you what happened when you gave me a message. Would you mind if I talk to you when you’re finished eating?” After my friends and I said our goodbyes, I headed to the kitchen to find my rather nervous waitress Sandy. “Some years ago, I was at the bookstore and heard you were going to speak that evening,” she explained. “I was lucky enough to get one of the few remaining tickets."

“You pointed straight at me and said, ‘This is for the young woman in the back row. I have your father here and he’s asking for forgiveness from you. Do you understand that?’”

Spirit Doesn’t Need a Mobile Phone

meditationbylake Spirit Doesn’t Need a Mobile Phone

Are you tired of always rushing around? How are you handling your digitally driven life? I’ve noticed that everywhere I go, everyone has their eyes on their cell phones. We’re living in a new world where our digital devices are speeding up and maybe even taking control of our lives.

I remember the days before email, before Facebook, and even before everyone, including young children, had mobile phones. My older friends remember having to handwrite letters and drop them in a mailbox to correspond with their family and friends. Then there was the dial-up landline telephone followed by the novelty of sending a fax. Now it’s the explosion of all things digital.

The net affect of all this instant communication is that we’re always rushing. There doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. We’ve become more impatient, more intolerant and more about results than the journey getting there! These days, we want things done yesterday and expect things to just materialize or happen when we want them to.

I see how dependant we’ve become to our phones, especially when I’m at the movie theater. Seconds before the film starts, everyone takes one last glance before turning them off. The glow around the cinema says it all.

Jennifer taps her way into my heart

child Jennifer taps her way into my heart

A young woman named Melinda came to see me for a reading. As she sat quietly across the room from me, there was a full line-up of relatives from the Other-Side stepping forward one by one.

In the background, I was acutely aware of a faint tapping that I was psychically hearing. It wasn’t the familiar tempo of a waltz or even a song that I'd recognize; yet, there it was again—a definite rhythm. It sounded more like: Clackity-clack, clackity-clack, clackity-clack.

Oh my God, heaven was actually tap dancing! I thought to myself. At that moment, a little girl stepped forward and gave me her name. I didn’t hesitate a moment longer, “Melinda, I have a little girl here and she is giving me the name of Jen or Jennifer. Do you understand that?”

“That’s my daughter!” Melinda’s eyes instantly filled with tears. Jennifer was her five-year-old daughter who’d tragically died after a kidney operation. Melinda recalled that day when the hospital staff had begged her and the rest of the family to “go home, relax, and get something to eat”—just for an hour— because nothing would happen. Yet, something awful did happen.

Move Your Body - Move Your Soul

moveyourbody Move Your Body - Move Your Soul

You never know when inspiration is going to come knocking at your door.

My colleague and fellow Hay House author Sonia Choquette is one of the most inspiring and motivational speakers I have ever witnessed. I’ve seen her lecture to packed auditoriums all over the world. Her principle is: Move your body – to move your soul. Even the most inhibited people who would never dare to stand up with everyone else and dance, are encouraged to get to their feet, move their hips, and shake every inch of their body!

It’s amazing to watch Sonia call upon a sad soul who has low self-esteem, someone who’s riddled by the fear of being noticed, and how she intuitively tunes in to their positive traits. She exudes a positive belief, and manages to bring them to the front of the stage and then gets them to sing, dance, or even yell at the top of their lungs. People walk away with their soul literally vibrating. If we could all just feel that way, I believe we could change the world.

A Swan Song of Love

origami-picture-id157282800 A Swan Song of Love

When I was first starting out, I participated in an event with well-known psychic medium John Edward. I was excited, nervous and anxious all at the same time. I knew this was my test to see if I could take my mediumship to the next level.

I sat in the green room for a while, thinking how much I wanted to be the very best I could, and I hoped that my guides would be there to assist me. Before long, I started to receive information in a series of images. In my mind’s eye, I saw what seemed to be a piece of paper being furiously folded. Were they trying to show me a paper plane, a paper toy, or was it just a cut-out doll? I tried to interpret what I was receiving as quickly as I could. It finally turned into a beautiful origami swan. I knew immediately that this was the link.

Suddenly I heard John Edward announce my name and I was on. Putting any fears behind me, I strode confidently on stage. The atmosphere was electric as I gave a short talk about myself, how I work, and what people could expect, as well as what not to expect.

How to Deepen Your Connection with Spirit

rose-on-the-ground-picture-id1142534635 How to Deepen Your Connection with Spirit

I began my training as a medium by what is known as sitting in circle. A circle simply means a group of like-minded people, whether it’s for psychic development or the development of a certain type of mediumship, all sitting together and sharing each other’s energy. These circles are usually led by an experienced teacher or medium who can give advice as your abilities begin to unfold.

I spent my first two formative years studying in the UK. I was lucky to land on my feet in my first circle with other mediums who were developing their abilities. Some circles are closed circles, which is when you have to be formally invited to join, as I was in this case. There's also what’s known as open circles where anyone can come and develop their psychic abilities further.

Sitting in circle definitely helped me increase my psychic strength and the length of time I could maintain the link with Spirit. Our leader would observe us, help us with our technique and make us aware when our guides drew close. I was so fortunate with this circle since it showed me how to develop a stronger link with Spirit, receive and give Spirit messages and focus on how to receive Divine inspiration from my guides and helpers.

The Day I Became a Spirit Whisperer

spirits The Day I Became a Spirit Whisperer

Back in the 1990’s, I was in a serious automobile accident that I’m convinced put me on my path as a Spirit Whisperer. After the accident, the psychic abilities I’d experienced as a child were now back, but this time they were a hundred times stronger. I remember the first time I did a reading with these newfound abilities.

An artist named Maury heard about me from a friend and came to see me. She had several career options and asked if I could give her some guidance.

One minute we were talking about her design business and the next I felt as if something had shifted in the room. These days I refer to this shift as “the quickening.” It felt like everything was going a little bit faster, as though someone had turned up the switch. It also meant that Maury and I weren’t alone anymore.

As I looked at Maury again, I noticed that sitting right beside her was an elderly woman. I saw her there as clear as day. “Maury, there’s an older woman sitting next to you, and there’s something strange about her clothes—nothing matches.” Maury let out a scream. I screamed, then she hugged me and I hugged her!

A Father's Love

happy-fathers-day-girl-gives-card-to-dad-picture-id947482264 A Father's Love

It’s Father’s Day on June 16th – a time to cherish your Dads and your Granddads or Father figure, whether they are with you or on the Other Side. The next time you find yourself missing your loved ones, try not to think they’re in some faraway place. In reality, they’re with you. They’re not here in a physical body, but they’re with you spiritually. Just remember that in the spiritual consciousness, there’s absolutely no separation at all. To illustrate this point, I’d like to share the following story from a family that I am very close to. It shows that your loved ones are with you through all the bad times, as well as the good times.

Chris and his wife, Claire, stood on the balcony in the Great Hall Meeting Room of Faneuil Hall in Boston. As beautiful as the historic building is, they weren’t there to sightsee but to proudly watch their son Charlie be sworn in as an attorney.

The students’ names were called one by one, and it was soon time for Charlie to stand up and accept his law degree. Just as Charlie’s name was read, Chris began to feel a presence at his side. It felt as if his own mom, who’d passed away years earlier, was standing right beside him. Chris shivered as it dawned on him what was happening. It hadn’t been something he’d wished for or expected to happen, but he felt in his heart that she was there in spirit to support him and her grandson with her love. Never wanting to miss out on anything when she was alive, she clearly wanted to be part of her grandson’s graduation!

As Chris’s eyes welled up with tears, he felt another presence draw close and felt a hand on his shoulder. In his mind, he heard the voice of his dad, who’d passed years earlier,“Son, I’m so proud.”

Love Is Truly Ever Lasting

sunflowers Love Is Truly Ever Lasting

As a tribute to all mothers, whether they are here or watching over us from the Other-Side, I’d like to share a special story for Mother’s Day, just over a week ago!

A few years ago, I was in Seattle, Washington for an event and took a stroll along the city’s famous landmark, Pike Place Market. As I passed by a floral shop, a certain bouquet of sunflowers drew my attention. I couldn’t take my eyes off them. I knew I wasn’t about to purchase them just to take home on the plane the next day! Still, I felt this overwhelming urge to buy them. It was a clear signal.

Over the years, I’ve learned it’s best to just go with my gut at times like these. Of course, I purchased the sunflowers right away. At the conference center, I asked the organizer to have them put on the stage with me.

When I walked onto the stage, I launched into my introductory lecture and explanation of how I work. All the while, I was aware of the mass of yellow sunflowers on the table beside me. I had barely finished my lecture when I felt the presence of those on the Other-Side draw close. Today, they were lining up as though waiting for a Black Friday sale! It was going to be a busy afternoon.

Are You Clairaudient?

Clairaudient Are You Clairaudient?

In a previous Soul Inspirations newsletter, I mentioned the three most popular psychic abilities: clairvoyance (“clear seeing”), clairaudience (“clear hearing”), and clairsentience (“clear feeling”) and how you can develop your inner sensing.

In this issue, I’d like to talk about clairaudience, your inner sense of hearing. It’s the ability to hear names, dates, certain sayings, and yes, even songs and melodies. Some people hear objectively, which is outside themselves. When you hear subjectively (in your mind), you’ll become aware of sounds as though they’re words spoken in your own voice.

Have you ever heard your name called out only to find out that no one was there? It may be from a loved one in Spirit, or it can be someone here who’s thinking of you. If you feel it’s the latter, try calling that person on the phone. Most likely, they’ll tell you that they were just thinking of you.

Another good example of clairaudience is when you hear a song playing in your head. Stop for a minute and make a mental note of the song. Listen to the lyrics; often, there is a message of encouragement or advice for you within the words, or for someone close to you who needs a lift or a helping hand.

Are You A Feeler?

intuition Are You A Feeler?

While there are a wide variety of psychic abilities, I often focus on the three most popular: clairvoyance (“clear seeing”), clairaudience (“clear hearing”), and clairsentience (“clear feeling”). It’s quite natural that some of you already know where your core psychic strengths lie. For example, if you think your individual psychic aptitude is to become a feeler, then you should work to strengthen your clairsentience before you start developing your other psychic senses.

I’ve noticed that many students who participate in my workshops start off with the belief that clairvoyance (I’m seeing or being shown) is the best ways to receive psychic information. However, being a good clairsentient (I’m feeling or sensing) can also produce excellent results.

Clairsentience is the inner-sense of knowing. This is one of the more familiar intuitive senses, and it’s probably the easiest one to develop and access.

Let’s say you’re introduced to someone for the first time at a social gathering, and you immediately get that feeling of discomfort or uneasiness. It’s not so hard to grasp what you’re sensing. You just know you’re not really going to bond with that person. It’s a gut reaction, but we tend to rationalize it by telling ourselves that we probably won’t have anything in common with them.

What’s actually happening is that you’re receiving thoughts and feelings from that person’s aura, which are then transmitted through your solar plexus chakra, which is in the abdomen area. This results in what we so often call that “gut feeling,” which in this case is a form of clairsentience.

Can You Actually See Your Departed Loved Ones?

woman-surprised-with-hand-in-her-mouth-picture-id178110006 Can You Actually See Your Departed Loved Ones?

Can we really see our departed loved ones right in front of us? According to Dr. Raymond Moody, this is possible through mirror gazing, which he also refers to as scrying. He developed his own mirror-gazing technique, his Psychomanteum Chamber, which was inspired by the ancient techniques used 2,500 years ago at the Oracle of the Dead in Ephyra, Greece.

Over the years, I’ve heard Dr. Moody speak many times of the people who have gazed into the mirror in his Psychomanteum Chamber and subsequently had their own personal contact with their departed loved ones.

How to Contact Your Departed Loved Ones

communicatingwithdead How to Contact Your Departed Loved Ones

If spirits can reach out to you, then it’s fair to say that you can reach out and communicate with them. Best of all, you don’t need a medium like me to do it for you nor do you need special abilities to make this type of loving connection on your own.

There are numerous ways to communicate with passed loved ones and stay in touch everyday, but you have to start with a strong mind-set and a belief that it is possible.

Your loved ones know when you’re reaching out to them. If you have this strong belief in place and are missing a particular loved one who recently passed, I’d like you to try the following 7 steps to invite them to your own private get-together:

1) Find a comfortable place and safely light a small votive candle on a table. Place a picture of your loved one right in front of you. Try to find the happiest picture you have of them because, in reality, that’s how they look now! Look into their eyes in the picture for a few moments. See the light that’s coming from them and remember that beautiful image in your mind.

Do Your Loved Ones Watch Over You?

empty-room-with-opened-door-3d-rendering-picture-id697500130 Do Your Loved Ones Watch Over You?

Have you ever been with someone who’s not long for this world and seen their eyes cast up as if they’re gazing at something not physically there? Have you ever noticed a dying person reaching up with their hands as if some invisible hands were reaching back out to them? Have you ever witnessed them having a conversation with someone who’s not there? When you ask who they were talking to, you might be surprised to find out they were having a conversation with someone who’s no longer living!

This phenomenon is known as deathbed visions (DBVs), which some people experience just before they pass. It’s less likely for such incidences to happen with a sudden passing, and more common with a natural death or prolonged terminal illness.

Even my mom had a DBV toward the end of her life. One day, she was sitting up in her hospital bed, quite coherent, and said quite excitedly, “Johnny! Guess who came to see me today for a visit?”

How Do You Say Goodbye to a Loved One

dying How Do You Say Goodbye to a Loved One

Goodbyes are never easy. Saying farewell to a loved one who’s dying can be one of the toughest things you’ll experience in this lifetime. No matter how ready you think you are, it’s never easy when the time actually comes. If you’re dealing with this at the moment, my heart goes out to you.

When my mom went into long-term palliative care, I received a small booklet by Hank Dunn called Hard Choices for Loving People. It prepared me to cope with one of the most emotional and arduous times in my life! I share the following excerpt in the hope that you’ll find some comfort in the words now or in the future:

There are two ways to hold on. We can grasp tightly as we would a coin in our fist. We fear we will lose it, so we hold it tight. Indeed, if we open our hand palm down the coin falls from our possession, and we feel cheated. The other way to hold on is by opening our hand palm up. The coin may sit there, or it could be blown away or shaken out of our possession. But while it is there, we are privileged to have it. We hold on with an open hand. Our hand is relaxed and we experience freedom.

Is There a Special Place That Touches Your Soul?

Trevone Is There a Special Place That Touches Your Soul?

Have you ever experienced a particular place where you’ve felt closer to God, Spirit, or Heaven? You just know there’s something special about that place, and it feels as though it touches your very soul.

The sense of peace and tranquility encompasses your whole being, and for some inexplicable reason you’re drawn to this place, even though you don’t truly know why. When you’re there, it’s almost as if the veil between this world and the next has been lifted, if only for a short time.

In the Celtic tradition, such places are called “Thin Places.” There’s a Celtic saying that Heaven and Earth are only three feet apart, but in these Thin Places, the distance is even smaller.

Thin Places not only make us feel calm but also transform us, as if we’re being unmasked. While we’re at these places, we’re aware that we’re far more than just a physical being — we feel ourselves as a spiritual being, our true essential selves: body, mind, and soul. The Thin Places can be found anywhere on the planet, including churches, temples, beautiful landscapes, and ancient ruins.

What Do People Do on the Other-Side?

candles What Do People Do on the Other-Side?

Your loved ones who have passed on have probably been gone awhile now … whether it's a few weeks, months or years. Have you ever wondered what they’re doing on the Other Side? Wouldn’t you like to know what they’re up to?

As a medium, I’ve connected with loved ones in Spirit who’ve wanted me to relay some of the most touching messages about what they’re doing on the Other-Side. In one such message, which took place at one of my intimate group readings, a young boy told me to tell his mom that he was out of his wheelchair, playing baseball and running the bases at a game. I remember his excitement connecting with me, as he knew he was talking to his mom again. He could barely get the words out fast enough, he was so excited to be telling her how he was doing all the things he was unable to do in his physical body.

Have you had a hugging dream?

huggingdream Have you had a hugging dream?

Did you know that many of us visit the Spirit World when we sleep?

We’re all aware that our physical body can’t exist without time to rest, regenerate, heal, and recharge our energy. Sleep is a vital function of our daily routine and overall well-being. It's my belief that our spirit also uses this time for a similar function. While we’re asleep (usually during our deepest dream state), it detaches itself from its physical encasement (our body) to visit the Spirit World to regenerate. During this time, it’s still connected to our physical body through what is known as the “silver cord,” or “etheric cord.”

Many people have reported having vivid dreams in which they communicated with loved ones who have passed on. When we see our loved ones in this dreamlike state, it’s usually just a fleeting visit. They appear younger, healthier, and more vibrant ... because in the Spirit World, that’s how they really are!
