What a miracle you truly are!

The Source that makes all living things in the Universe is also the same Source that’s inside of you. This Divine Source interacts and is connected with the whole of you, which means your body, mind and soul.

To honor your divinity, to live a spiritual and physical life of happiness, serenity, abundant health, and to experience a loving and successful relationship, it’s important to understand and get to know your true essence—your soul. You must begin to reach inward to meet your soul, to move through all the layers of what’s been built up inside and around you over the years.

A Blessed 2021: A New Year of Connecting with Your Soul!

young-couple-wearing-protective-face-masks-for-coronavirus-and-for-picture-id1283512395

It’s going to be very strange when we turn on our TVs on New Year’s Eve to watch the ball drop at Times Square. For the first time in 114 years, the streets of New York City will be empty. But as strange as that may seem—we still have good reason to celebrate!

Bottom line:

  • We survived 2020.
  • We made it this far!
  • We pulled together, and tapped into resources we didn’t even think we had and above all, we moved forward.
  • We learned how to do our jobs, teach our kids and order our essentials online.
  • We figured out ways to maintain our fortitude and stay connected to our lives and our loved ones, even when wearing masks and keeping our distance.

I fully appreciate that not everyone was so fortunate and my heart and prayers go out to all those who have lost someone to Covid-19.

We’ll Be Home for the Holidays—and That’s Okay!

idyllic-christmas-with-my-mom-picture-id1190196389

I drove around my neighborhood the other day and noticed several houses already decorated for the holidays. Seeing the colorful twinkling lights around the windows and giant inflatable Santa Clauses waving from front lawns puts me in the holiday spirit.

But this year, as we all know ... things are different. A nasty Grinch called Covid-19 is trying to steal Christmas from us. With more lockdowns in place and more cases prohibiting us to cross borders and visiting our loved ones, the classic holiday song, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” is literally coming true for 2020.

I wanted to share some interesting parallels I learned about this popular song and our challenging year fighting the pandemic.

People were singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” when we were involved in another tough battle—World War II. The lyrics were written in the voice of a soldier serving overseas who is reminiscing about the holidays—surrounded by family and friends. This soldier looks forward to coming home and asks specifically for things that represent the holidays: Please have snow and mistletoe, and presents by the tree. The song, however, ends on a melancholy note with the soldier saying: “I’ll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams.”

Hang Out in the Present Moment

relaxing-by-the-window-picture-id1161014322

I had to laugh when I saw a cartoon some months ago. (If you haven’t seen it, I shared it on my Facebook page: It showed three booths at a Spiritual Fair. One of the booths offered “Past-Life Reading” and another touted “Future Telling.” Both booths had crowds of people in line clamoring to get their turn.

The middle booth, however, had no customers whatsoever. The sign above it read: “Meditation” and the lonely person manning this booth kept desperately trying to wave people over, saying “Present Moment anyone?”

How true is this? We yearn to discover more about how our past has shaped us and we can’t wait to find out what’s in store for our future. But for right now, we’re more inclined to shake our heads and say: “Uh-uh. No thanks. I’ll pass.”

How You Breathe Is How You Live

love-autumn-picture-id1065781636

Can you believe it’s Autumn already? The leaves are changing and the beautiful colors look like an artist canvas, the stores are selling holiday decorations already, the sunsets are getting earlier and we’re still going stir-crazy staying at home so much. I want to tell you about a remarkable resource to use when you need a lift. I call it: “The Soul Reservoir.” Each of us possesses this vital force. It can benefit your overall well-being and even help your psychic and intuitive development. And you don’t need to be a Jedi or Mark Hamill to wield it. All you have to do is simply—take your next breath!

Is Your SOUL the REAL You?"

young-woman-looks-thoughtfully-and-sadly-through-the-window-into-the-picture-id1201429767 Your soul is powered by the energy of love!

You’ve heard me talk a lot about the soul lately. I can’t help it, I’m so excited about this limitless power we all possess. It’s sort of like having Harry Potter’s wand or Samantha Stevens’ twitchy nose. Whatever it is you want or need, your soul can make it happen!

Many of you have asked me how do you start connecting with your soul? Well, I always say the same thing, which is by remembering that you are a soul first. You’ve heard me say this again and again: "You're a soul that comes with a body—not a body that comes with a soul."

When you look in the mirror, think about it … Is it the real you? NO! The Soul is pure consciousness, and the true essence of who you really are. When you acknowledge that you’re a soul and not purely just a physical body, then believe me when I tell you, there’s no limit to what you can achieve!

Your Body Is One Big Psychic Antenna

concept-picture-id872670490 The body acts as a conduit for information

Did you know that you’re already equipped with one of the most fundamental pieces of equipment to provide you with an endless supply of psychic information and guidance? Yes, it’s your body! You need look no further than your own physical body for answers.

I got my first real lesson in listening to my body when I was involved in a near-fatal automobile accident many years ago. You probably remember me talking about this in my first book Born Knowing. The shock to my system from the accident resulted in my energy centers or chakras being forced open. I soon realized that my abilities, which I’d so often pushed away, were back with a strength and intensity that I’d never experienced before.

Most people don’t realize that their body often acts as a conduit for information from our psychic senses through our energy centers. I like to say that our body is one big psychic antenna and the messages are flowing on a daily basis.

Keeping your Soul Journal is a Must!

jounaling Special time with yourself and your Soul.

I’m so honored to have received such a reaction to my new venture “My Soul Community” which launches in just 10 days! So many people have already emailed me, asking all sorts of questions, so they can prepare for this 12-month journey. I believe it’s important to prepare, and also to record your journey, so as part of the resources that will be included in My Soul Community, I’ve made sure there’s a Journal to download free, so everyone can keep their own private journal.

As part of your preparation, it’s also important to get in touch with your soul-self and one of the ways to enhance your spiritual awareness is to become more psychically aware. So, to master your psychic abilities, you should try and practice your skills every day so you can look forward to your special time with yourself and your Soul.

See What a Soulful Tribe Can Do for You

choosing-the-right-person-picture-id1063719382 When you are connected to your soul – you are linked to a higher power.

It’s hard to believe we’re now in our sixth month of quarantine life. Just the notion of this is getting us more antsy and anxious. The new school year has begun and our worries are compounding, whether it’s centered around the safety of our teachers and students heading back into the classrooms or how much longer we have to wait before some normalcy comes back into our lives.

But while your outside world is full of uncertainty, there is one resource you can always rely on, one constant force that will throw you a lifeline and keep you afloat during these chaotic times—your Soul!

Your soul is always connected to a Higher Source. (When I talk about “Source” I mean God, the Universe, or a Higher Consciousness – call it what you will.) This is the power that will move you beyond feeling trapped, constrained, unfulfilled or alone.

I know that many of you are concerned about what’s going on right now in the world and in your own life. Whatever it may be: fear, uncertainty, injustice, intolerance, financial worry, relationship troubles, or health concerns. Maybe you’re feeling like you don’t belong anywhere or you’re losing hope. Maybe you want some answers to the many questions filling your head: What can I do? Why am I here? How do I get out of this mess? It’s important at times like these to remain connected to your soul. When you are connected to your soul – you are linked to a higher power.

How to Tell If You’re Using Your Innate Psychic Ability

woman-in-an-ancient-temple-looks-at-the-cross-picture-id1209246894 Are you opening your awareness to your natural abilities?

Did you know that you were born psychic? It’s true. In fact, we were all born psychic. Some people have more extrasensory abilities than others, yet we all possess this innate natural power.

You don’t have to be a transcended master or meditation guru or a TV celebrity. Being psychic isn’t about fortune-telling, crystal balls or predicting the future, it isn’t just something we possess—it’s more a way of being.

Let me tell you a little about what the word psychic means. Put simply, it comes from the Greek word psychikos that means “of the soul.” By definition, this means that as spiritual beings, we’re able to access, receive and transmit information that reaches beyond our natural five senses.

We’re all equipped with a complex and highly tuned inner guidance system, which we can regularly tap in to, using our intuitive and psychic abilities. Believe it or not, you use these special psychic abilities all the time.  You’re probably not even aware that you’re doing it. Take a few moments and answer the following 6 questions:

Psychic Ability vs. Intuition: What’s the Difference?

portrait-of-sad-young-woman-with-face-protective-mask-looking-through-picture-id1217603648 Psychic Ability vs. Intuition: What’s the Difference?

I've had so many emails and messages about tuning in during these challenging times we continue to face. I know everyone is asking the obvious questions, such as: "How long will it last?", "Am I safe to go out?", "Can I go to the party my family is throwing?" ... and so many more. There are no set answers, but many of you have been asking how to tune into your own inuition at this time. So, I thought it was important to remind you of the primary difference between psychic information and intuitive information.

How do you tell whether you’re getting psychic messages or it’s just a hunch or your imagination? The words psychic and intuition are often used interchangeably. Is there a difference between the two? I’d say that psychic ability is simply the natural extension of our intuition.

A Walking Meditation to Calm Your Anxiety

long-walk-on-the-beach-picture-id1194449388-2 A Walking Meditation to Calm Your Anxiety

With all this people-distancing and being sheltered in place, I really need to get out in the fresh air and walk. I usually take my dog Koda with me, and of course, my mask! I don't pretend for one minute the situation isn't serious, but if you're like me ... it's so important to keep things balanced, and while I take it seriously, I try my hardest to remain realistic and not become neurotic or over-react. Having a dog means I have to take him out every day for a walk, but I find these walks even more meaningful.

So, next time you venture outside for a little unwind time, why don't you try a “walking meditation.” This is where you use the experience of walking as a catalyst to combine movement with inner-calmness. It's all about focusing on the rhythm of walking to the point, where the rest of your mind chatter starts to quieten or even silenced. It really works! Anytime you actively focus your mind on a single activity, you enter some form of tranquillity.

Get Back on Your Path of Purpose

Get Back on Your Path of Purpose Get Back on Your Path of Purpose

In a recent blog, I talked about a powerful technique I learned while studying in England. My tutors taught me how to move away from feeling down and low during challenging times and to “think up” so I could get back on the path of clarity and purpose. If you're feeling anything like me, then as we move through this particularly challenging time with Covid, it's so important to deal with any fears and anxieties, and to start to get back on your path of purpose. So, what better time than right now!

Here's an exercise to help you connect with your higher consciousness. You will even be able to ask questions for a little extra guidance. Let’s begin:

Sit in a comfortable chair. Close your eyes and relax. Now I want you to bring your awareness to the bottom of your feet. Let your breath assist you in transferring the relaxing energy up through the bottom of your feet. Slowly work your way up your calves, your thighs, your abdomen, your chest, your fingers, your hands, your arms, your shoulders, your neck, your face … right to the top of your head.

Now imagine that there’s a big funnel starting to form on top of your head, reaching out into the universe. Think of it as a vortex of energy reaching upward. Let your awareness constantly flow up and out of your head and into this funnel above you. All the information you want can be brought to you.

This Is a Time to ‘Think Up!

yoga-position-picture-id172689771 This Is a Time to ‘Think Up!

During a recent Facebook Live session, I mentioned a chapter in my book Psychic Navigator that I thought would be helpful as we continue to face these difficult times of people-distancing and remaining vigilant to keep up the good practice, even though it's easy to let things slip.

The more we stay connected to our Higher Mind—which we also call the Universe, the Source, or Spirit—the more we strengthen and build that crucial bridge between ourselves and our higher consciousness.

While we’re all born connected to this Divine awareness, we tend to pull away from what was once natural. It’s reasonable to assume that when we become disconnected from our Higher Mind, the Source that once nourished us will be replaced with something else. In other words, the connection could be with food, alcohol, nicotine, co-dependency to someone or something, or even work.

How to Calm Your Mind and Soul

morning-meditation-picture-id1246364935 How to Calm Your Mind and Soul

I know that many of you may have misconceptions about meditation. This word alone conjures up images of a guru chanting from the top of a mountain or a monk sitting in a sacred temple, surrounded by incense smoke floating in the air. Some people believe that meditation is as simple as closing one’s eyes and going into a trance, or at the most basic level, that you only need to let your mind go totally blank to be able to enter a meditative state.

During these uncertain times when many of us are having trouble sleeping as our minds race over the current headlines, let’s take a closer look at this ancient method of stillness and guidance of the soul.

Meditation is merely a state of being, in which your active mind slows down. It can bring you to a place where you can actually silence your mental chatter, and in doing so, become increasingly aware of the subtle, shifting energies within you. It may seem impossible, but you can actually train yourself to watch your thoughts come into your mind and go right out again, much like flowing water. Soon these same thoughts will lose their power to influence your conscious mind.

It’s a Vital Time to Feed Your Soul

meditation-and-spirituality-at-home-picture-id1141210149 It’s a Vital Time to Feed Your Soul

Now that we’re staying at home, it’s getting harder to find peace and contentment.  I believe, above all right now, it’s most important to continually feed our souls.

When the outside world becomes so stressful that your anxiety starts to overwhelm you, stop and ask yourself: “When was the last time I checked in with myself?” You’ve got to learn to pull back from the stresses and strains of our current situation and make time to seek out that inner place of silence, calmness and peace.

Meditation can do all that! It can also positively affect your health, which I call the extra benefit.  For instance, the sense of relaxation and calmness that results from meditating can enhance your immune system, as well as reduce your blood pressure. Additionally, it can increase your physical energy as well as your overall well-being.

How to relax with all that's going on!

young-woman-sitting-in-the-lotus-pose-outside-on-her-patio-picture-id1202729719 How to relax with all that's going on!

If you want to become more aware of your inner guidance system, you must first learn to relax your body as well as your mind. When your physical state is one of calmness, your mind will become still, and clarity will follow. You’re probably saying: “But John, how can I relax with all that’s going on in the world right now?” My best advice: Meditate!

I know, you’ve heard me say this before, but it’s worth repeating since meditation will help you feel calmer and more balanced during this pandemic.

So, here’s the deal. I want to challenge you to meditate every day, even if it’s for only 5 minutes. You’ll feel more capable of dealing with being stuck in your house and handling your anxiety. Plus, it will ultimately build your immune system and alleviate some of these tensions you’re holding inside your body. Once that stress is released, some associated minor ailments may disappear as well.

Conversations with your Soul

Conversations with your Soul Conversations with your Soul

For many years, I’ve kept my own journals to capture my own spiritual progress and record the patterns weaving in and around my life. When I look back, I can see how I’ve grown, and I appreciate the important lessons I needed to encounter along the way. During these unprecedented times, I find myself needing to record my thoughts and feelings more, as though I am drawn to the need to record them. My mind goes round and round trying to make sense of what is happening right now, not just in the USA, but all over the world.

The spiritual discipline of journaling is meant to be so much more than just a record of events. It’s a way to relish time with your self in quiet contemplation and reflection, and it will help you connect with your soul on a deeper level.  It’s a bit like a meditative conversation with your inner-self. It can also be a cathartic time, where you're able to work out your response to what's going on, and hopefully find comfort from within. If you've never made time to keep a journal before, maybe this is the ideal time to start. I like to call my journal, a Soul Journal.

Let’s take a few minutes and get mindful today. Mindfulness is the opposite of distraction. The more mindful you are, the more aware you’ll become of yourself, what’s going on inside of you, as well as what’s going on outside and beyond yourself. It’s a great exercise for your soul.

Find a comfortable place to sit. Keep your feet flat on the floor and your hands comfortably on your lap. Use your nose to inhale as well as exhale. Practice this breathing meditation for 20 minutes. Each step should take 5 minutes:
