“When you can really accept there is no such thing as perfection, it frees you up to be perfect in your imperfections.”
What is it you really want to manifest?
In our modern day culture and even in self-help and self-development, we're constantly being taught to know what you want and to be specific about what you want.
Here's the thing, there is a limited old paradigm in the way. Manifestation has been taught that it is possible to get what you want by willing your way through life.
To control life . . .
To impose your will on life and to manifest with your mind. . .
And, this is the old ego model of manifestation.
“There is a deeper impulse of how life is seeking to express itself through you. The more you can be open to that and allowing life to lead you, that’s where the magic happens.”
As I record this podcast episode, my new book, The Magic of Surrender is being released and launched into the world. I'm really excited and privileged to be sharing this book with you. I’m excited about this topic of surrender and helping redefine what surrender can mean in your life. I have to confess as we begin the exploration on surrender, this book is not the book I thought I was going to write. Listen to this episode as I dive deep sharing life wisdom I received in writing this book and how you too can live surrender as one of the greatest ways to live a life of flow, abundance and yes, magic. Let’s go!
We all go through difficult times, when things don’t seem to work out.
It’s easy to lose hope and feel like you are facing bad karma or luck during these moments.
Your karma is the result of the sum total of your actions. For every cause there is an effect.
If you are going through tough times right now, remember that it is only a season, and no season lasts forever. Even your most difficult time will pass.
Trust.
Your challenges are gifts in disguise sent by the universe to strengthen your character. Your dreams chose you for a reason. And your dream will take you on a journey of having to become the person who is capable of fulfilling the vision.
It’s often when things are challenging that we grow the most. So trust that you wouldn’t be going through the difficult situation if you weren’t ready or capable of handling it.
In these times you can either feel like a victim or you can take the first step and take full responsibility for your situation.
Rather than asking “Why ME?”
Ask “WHY am I going through this experience and WHAT is my soul seeking to learn?”
Recognize that you are not a victim.
Your current situation is simply the product of the total combined actions, thoughts, feelings and intentions of your past. Everything you have lived up until now has contributed to where you are. So it’s no accident.
No matter how much love you get from others it will never be enough if you aren’t loving yourself.
Seeking love, validation, approval outside of yourself is a recipe for misery.
You are a love addict when you NEED the love, approval of those in your life in order to feel ok. When your sense of self worth is dependent on other’s loving you, you end up needing other people’s love like a drug.
When you think that you are lacking something inside or that you aren’t whole and complete, you end up seeking it outside thinking that person will somehow complete you.
This creates dependency since you have made the other person responsible for your sense of freedom and inner security. You will never feel free living this way.
The love you get outside yourself temporarily fulfills that unmet need deep within you. But ultimately it isn’t lasting. The more you need the love from outside, the less free you are to authentically be yourself.
A million likes on Facebook will never be enough if you don’t like yourself.
The whole world thinking you are amazing will never be enough if you don’t appreciate yourself.
So what do you love about yourself?
What is my purpose in life?
I get asked this question all the time at my live events and during interviews.
There’s often a myth that your life purpose is something that you need to figure out and find up front. That unless you are crystal clear you can’t live it.
But what if you didn’t need to know everything about your life’s purpose in order to begin?
Often when we focus so much on trying figure out all the details of our life purpose we can end up waiting and holding back our gifts.
If you want to live your purpose then stop waiting.
Simply begin by going in the direction that moves you most deeply.
Take a step.
When you take a step, each step will reveal to you the next step. In a sense your purpose will find you in the process.
You don’t need to know the entire map of where you are going to get to where you are meant to be.
You may not be able to see all the steps on the journey from where you are today. It’s OK.
But you do need to start.
Trust that you will be guided every step of the way.
So if you aren’t sure which direction to go in or what your life’s purpose is, begin by asking yourself these 4 questions:
When things don’t go according to plan or work out how you intended, it can be a huge disappointment and let down, especially when you have invested so much time, energy, and money.
It’s easy to judge yourself as a failure and beat yourself up harshly. But this serves nothing.
When you try so hard and your dreams don’t happen, it’s easy to question yourself and even want to give up on the dream itself.
But what if there was no such thing as “failure”?
Consider that every experience is feedback to you from the universe and every moment is an opportunity to learn something more about yourself.
Failure is simply an interpretation of reality based on your current level of consciousness.
So – What if things not working out were really a gift from the universe designed to take you deeper into yourself, forcing you to question, reflect, and let go of anything not in alignment with your highest?
Everyone will die so it's important to accept your mortality. It doesn't have to be a negative thing.
You must embrace the inevitable so you can move forward with haste knowing you don't have time to waste, you don't have time to wait.
The time is now to give your gifts to the world.
We have all lied to ourselves and others at some point in our lives, about who we are, what we think, what we have done.
Deep down our fear is, “If you really know who I am or what I have done, then you won’t love me.”
We are afraid of losing love or losing the life that we have. Living in fear is not freedom.
The truth will set you free and open you to receiving all the bigger blessings that life has in store for you.
It requires real courage. It requires the willingness to not compromise your heart, even if it means being alone.
It’s true that in the process of speaking your truth, you may lose people, relationships may end, old structures might crumble.
Know that you are clearing the space to be open to what is right for you.
You are free when you realize that you don’t have the power to MAKE another person change.
You suffer when you spend your time trying to control the lives of those around you to be what you want them to be.
People don’t change unless they really want to change. You only have the power to share your perspective, wisdom, and invite them to consider a different way of doing things.
When someone changes simply to make you happy, rest assured, it doesn’t last.
They must not only want to change but must be committed to it. They also must be open to your help. We sometimes try to change people that are not asking for help and end up trying to control them to fit our ideal.
Why are we afraid to ask for help?
It is often because we are too proud or we see it as a sign of weakness. It is the opposite. Asking for help shows strength. When you ask for help you give that person the gift to give you service. You're helping them too.
You don't have to be a slave to your past. Use every experience for your growth and learning. Identify the lessons learned rather than judge yourself. Based on who you were you could not have made any other decision so there is no reason to regret.
You are not your behavior. Your soul is complete and good. Love yourself. Love now.
