Good Things Come to Those Who Act

julie9.1
Good things come to those who wait.

We’ve heard it. We’ve used it on our kids. And we may have even practiced it ourselves a time or two. It’s a quote on patience, and it’s quite a valuable one.

But it’s not always necessarily true.

Depending on the situation, patience is great. It helps us pass the time during the mundane; distracts us during things we dislike; and survive the moments we feel like we won’t make it another ten seconds.

When it comes to our lives – specifically, our big and important goals – we eventually have to stop waiting and start doing.

For those of you afraid to take that jump, I understand. It’s one thing to put yourself in a position to pursue the things you’ve always wanted. It’s a totally different situation to actually change your life. Why? Because funneling away a few hundred dollars a month doesn’t drastically change your life. Neither does going to a few networking events a month or even an extended vacation to test out our idea.

Every season of your life brings in new adventures that are exciting but can often be a time of uncertainty. Moving away from your hometown, changing careers, getting married or other exciting life milestones feel like they should be filled with unbridled happiness, but many times end up less than the perfect scenario we envisioned on our journey.

Each time we set out to achieve a new goal or realize our dreams, we’re met with disappointment at various points on our path. Just because things don’t always go as planned doesn’t mean you should abandon your hopes of ever being successful. Learning how to deal with disappointment along the way is just as important as the accomplishments you seek.

Change Is Coming

juliem8.18
I don’t know you personally, but I have an idea who you are. You’re a parent, teacher, spouse, sibling,  and your family mean the world to you. You are a professional, and you want your job to feed you both literally and figuratively. You are committed to creating a better, more fulfilling life and you know that a part of that means improving the financial situation you are currently in.

And I know one more thing about you: you may be ready to make a change. A big change. One that will take you on a journey towards the life of you dreams.

I get it. I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to know there is more out there – to know that, although my life is find just the way it is, I am capable of more – but feeling overwhelmed and terrified at the thought of shifting. Opening up a finance firm with an emphasis on emotions and a loft office? Not too many people in this business thought it was a great idea.

But I knew my strengths; I was certain that the lessons I learned while on my own personal journey to financial fitness could help people, so I took the risk and made the change.

How To Fund Your Dreams

juliemurphy7.22
I’ve talked a lot about what it means and how it feels to be a dreamer. Sure, there is some negative connotation with constantly having new ideas about what you want. But as I’ve said before, no dream is idle. You are one of the lucky ones. You have both the energy, the openness and the creativity to allow dreams to manifest within you. That’s why I want to discuss the money behind the idea.

As much as money affords opportunity, I believe that you can turn the money you have right now and get started creating your own opportunity. Dreaming and pursuing those dreams shouldn’t be reserved just for the wealthy. You’re not rich? That’s okay. I wasn’t either when I decided to open my own financial business. You just need to be practical and smart with where you invest your time and how you save, spend and invest your money.

Find the root of your dream

Have You Had Enough?

Enough
For years, I’ve watched while we, particularly women, choose to put others needs in front of our own. When in the inside we are starving for our lives to be different than what we’ve created. Depending on your stage of life it could be different, but usually when we are starting in our 40s we start to see it differently, but by the time we’re in our 50s, we’ve had enough.

I watch as we chip away at what our soul is screaming for us to do and we still choose to do other things despite being called to another path. We get trapped by the rat race of our lives which results in stuffing down our emotions. Those stuffed down emotions either work themselves out by feeling the feelings or we act them out through our health or our wealth. We start being put on medications from our doctors, and we grieve what we know our financial lives could have been if you had made different choices.

5 Ways To Position Your Life For Greater Abundance

dairycows 5 Spiritual Principles to Experience Greater Prosperity In Your Life

There once was a man who lived just outside of Pittsburgh.

He operated a small dairy farm. Day in and day out he worked laboriously, earning a meager living for himself and his family.

One day, several men who had been surveying some adjacent land walked across the pasture. The farmer noticed them as they were crossing a stream of water that ran through the field.

Suddenly, some of the men stooped down, and the farmer watched as they began studying the slime and the scum that had collected against the crude footbridge the farmer had laid there.

One man scooped up some water in his hand and drank it. Another collected some water in a canteen he carried attached to a buckle on his belt.

The farmer was puzzled and wondered why anyone would be interested in that water. Even the cattle didn’t like it – they always pushed the scum aside to drink the clear water.

Some weeks later, one of the men who had been studying the water in the stream called the farmer and offered him a fabulous price for his farm.

The farmer thought,

“This man must be crazy. Why is he offering so much money for such a mediocre farm like mine? He’ll never get his investment back!”

But the farmer was joyful at the prospect of receiving so much money. So, he sold the farm and bought another one in Canada where his brother lived.

Financial Fears: Time to Let Them GO….

savings
Who’s got them? My guess is most of us. They come and go over time, sometimes with more intensity and sometimes less. Why? This comes from our past conditions in the families and communities we grew up in. We learned emotional response systems from those we started our lives with and continue to attract those that reinforce those belief systems. We’re more stuck in our daily groves, with the appearance, that it is harder and harder to change the more time flies by. I’m here to tell you, anything can happen, no matter what age you are, how many failures you’ve had or how many people are counting against you. All you need is the real you to show up…and to recognize why these patterns keep persisting in our lives.

Think of it like this, years ago, I was watching TV. I was watching a cooking show. Not one with a huge celebrity chef cooking, but a show that brought in everyday people to share their family favorite recipes that had been passed down for generations. This young woman, in her early 20s, was picked and she was so excited to share her great grandmother’s baked ham recipe. As she prepared the food live tv she was very methodical going through things step by step. The host that day asked her, “Why are you cutting both ends off the ham before you put it in the oven?” The young woman responded, “I’m not sure, that’s just how we’ve always done it in our family.”

You're Worth It

worthiness
It’s time to raise our energetic, financial vibration!!! I want you all right now to download the song, “I’m Worth It” by Djsleazy and listen to it often. I realize you may not be a pop music fan, but my 3 year old daughter this week, MaryKate, is walking around the house blasting this song, wiggling her little hips dancing and singing “I’m worth it. Yeah, I’m worth it.” I understand this song could have a couple messages, but the fact that my 3 year old is internalizing that she is “Worth It” will go for miles during her lifetime.

Many of us have life experiences that have helped us feel like we are not worth it. We’ve created habits that don’t necessarily put us farther down our path to our soul work on this earth. Financially speaking, this comes about in various ways. We spend more than our income, we carry credit card debt and we keep choosing car loans over and over again. All things that deplete our energy and suck the life out of us as opposed to feed us more uplifting, positive energy. Then on top of that we pump ourselves up with Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts large coffees cream and sugar please, that keep us it the bad habit cycle of distracting ourselves to what’s really going on in our lives.

What is PACT?

pact
Today, many of us create our financial lives by building it from the outside in. Why? Because the entire way our system is set up today from our educational systems, our career systems, our family structures, etc teach us on some level that something outside of us is better than the version that we are. Our systems teach us that we are flawed on some level. That we need to improve what we are not good at as opposed to really focusing on what we are inherently really good at and amplifying those talents.

What we are missing is that we were each put here on this earth for a specific calling. We’ve chosen our careers, and the money we make, to be the center of every decision. Money has become a core value and every decision pushes out from that. So if you don’t have money, you are of no value and if you have a ton of money, you have huge value. I’m here to tell you that this is a bunch of rubbish.

How to Get a Raise at Work and Make More Money

businessmen-

Are you making the kind of money you want to be making in your current job? Chances are, your answer is no. But when you know how to get a raise, everything can change.

If you feel like you should be making more — but don’t want to have to apply for new positions at different companies and start all over somewhere else — getting a raise can be the answer.

Today I’d like to share my top tips on how to make more money where you are right now and propel your career in the direction you want to go.

Add More Value

My first tip is to create and add more value to the company.

What can you do to help the company make or save more money? How can your efforts help to boost the organization’s results or reputation, or fulfill the company’s mission or objectives? What can you do to make your manager’s or coworkers’ lives easier?

Look for needs that aren’t being met — either within the organization or your clients’ or customers’ needs — and meet those needs to add more value wherever possible. That’s the first, and biggest step you can take to make yourself more deserving of a higher paycheck.

5 Things Keeping You from Wealth and Success

Goals

Everybody wants to enjoy a certain level of wealth and success in life. But so few of us actually manage to create the life of ease and abundance that we long for.

So why is that? Well, one big reason is that we don’t cultivate a healthy relationship with money. We develop beliefs, attitudes and habits about money in our youth that hold us back from being able to generate wealth and enjoy the financial freedom we desire.

But the good news is, once you’re able to identify these “money roadblocks” in your own habits and behaviors, you’ll be able to overcome them once and for all — and finally be able to make more than enough money to create the life of your dreams.

So today I’d like to talk about five big obstacles that are keeping you from experiencing the wealth and success you deserve and the solutions to overcoming them.

Financial Stress: Resetting Our Needs

freedom

Covid-19 has offered us the opportunity of a reset.

Throughout this window of quarantine, self-isolation and lockdown, we have been able to very quickly discern every day what it is we need on a daily basis. Covid has forced us to become conscious around our level of consumption. It has also shown us that we really don’t need most of what we have been consuming at all.

I would like you to continue the momentum of this reset as we continue to emerge beyond the pandemic, and return to our daily lives. Because the simpler you are, meaning the more you realize your survival is dependent on basic things, the more what you do with your time becomes a choice. It very quickly enables you to get out of a bad trade, which is trading your  time and energy in order to survive.

The Secret to Funding Your Dreams

sunset-achievement-picture-id1161180808-1

There are some hugely negative connotations in our culture today about constantly having new ideas and dreaming about your future. We’re pressed towards having a steady, life-long career regardless of how it makes us feel, making a lot of money, and that’s our culture’s definition of success… So why do I talk so much about what it means and how it feels to be a dreamer?

Because here’s the truth about dreaming: no dream is idle. As a dreamer, you are one of the lucky ones. You have the energy, openness, and creativity to allow dreams to manifest within you and become your new reality.

Dreaming and pursuing your dreams shouldn’t be reserved for the wealthy. There’s no denying that money affords opportunity, but I believe you can turn the money you have right now into a sustainable support for your dream. You’re not rich? Not a problem. I wasn’t either when I started my financial business. All you need is to find the root of your dream, be practical about where you invest your time and how you save, spend, and invest your money.

How to Be the CEO of Your Own Life

happyCEO Nothing is going to change if you don’t first choose to make it change.

Tell me if you can relate… Are you feeling stuck in a job that isn’t satisfying, perhaps one that’s not taking you anywhere you truly want to go? Maybe you don’t know what to do about it or how to change? Do you find yourself hating your work and feeling stuck there?

I encounter this a lot in my own work, and believe it or not, it’s not only people who are financially strapped with stories similar to these. No matter the amount of money in a 401k and other savings, any one of us can look up one day to find ourselves decades-deep in a less-than-desirable job situation without a clue for how to escape.

The job landscape is transforming before our eyes, forcing a lot of people to take jobs they don’t love simply to get by financially. Others of us are staying in jobs we don’t like to maintain a lifestyle we were once convinced we wanted, but now all this “just getting by” is making us feel like another drone in the system.

What To Do If It Feels Too Late to Chase Your Dream

Julie-Murphy-Chase-Your-Dream-Blog-1 It’s Never Too Late to Leap

So many of us are afraid that it’s too late to start after our dreams or too late to leap towards the life we want, that we end up stuck in place. I get this or similar questions a lot: “Julie, I have a lot of dreams. Is it crazy to make the leap later in life? I’m feeling frozen…”

I think it’s never too late, and let me tell you why.

Take Advantage of Your Time

Once, I had a 72-year-old client go back to law school because he regretted not having done it in his youth. For years before that, however, we would talk about it. I would ask him, “You know, what are you going to do with all this money? Get busy living or get busy dying,” but for years, he put it off.

He kept coming in for his appointment and I’d ask him if he took the LSAT yet, or if he’d gotten into law school yet, or if he’d started taking classes yet. Not attending law school was one of his biggest regrets, but for a long time, he felt like it was too late to change anything about it.

The Secret Behind Manifesting Your Dreams

red-heart-shaped-tree-picture-id542701780
Here’s a question I’ve been getting a lot lately… Julie, how can I dream about the next steps of my life when I feel so stuck where I am?

Honestly, it all boils down to self love. You have to see your worth, and then you have to start dreaming where you can.

Focus on the Beginning

I know for a fact that we as humans do not have to call in a crisis to actually create our shift and manifest our dreams. We just have to start, even if it means starting small. Maybe the dreams are teeny tiny at first, usually because that’s all we can do at the moment, but once you really start manifesting your dreams, you start to open things up and those dreams only get bigger and bigger.

Here’s What Might be Holding You Back

holdingyouback Are You Going to Have a Breakdown or Breakthrough?

Times of change and craziness really bring a lot of clarity sometimes, and one of the things I wanted to share with you guys that I’m becoming super, super clear on, especially with everything that’s going on, is this: unless we deliberately make a change, we are going to start repeating all of our old patterns, or at least try to repeat a lot of the patterns from before COVID, even if that means repeating the worst of our suffering cycles.
Here’s what I mean…

The Effects of Repeating Patterns

The other day, I went out to a restaurant to eat with my kids. It’s been a long time of social distancing and we wanted to enjoy some time out for a bit. However, as I was eating at the restaurant, I noticed something as I was eating food I hadn’t been eating for the last few months. I kept having to blow my nose because there was something in the food that I have a sensitivity to. I’d been far more careful and was choosing better foods before, but as life started going back to “normal,” I made some exceptions for myself. And it didn’t feel good.
