One Breath at a Time

serene-sunset-on-a-beach-picture-id1163593127 One Breath at a Time

Are you breathing?

The Practice:
One breath at a time.

Why?

[If for you the breath is associated with trauma and discomfort, you probably shouldn’t try this practice in its form below. But you might adapt it to something that is more nurturing for you, such as a saying or image.]

Breathing brings you home. Body and mind twine together in the breath. As soon as you become aware of breathing, you’re in your body. Speed up the breath and there’s new energy. Slow it down and you calm. Inhale and oxygen surges into your brain while the arousing sympathetic nervous system activates and accelerates the heartbeat. Exhale and activate the soothing peaceful parasympathetic nervous system, so the heart beats more slowly. In the breath you are home in this moment, this Now.

The Greater Evolution

evolution The Greater Evolution

You are a magnificent being. You have a light inside of you that is both dynamic and powerful. It’s time to finally have the courage to liberate this potential for all of the world to see and feel.

Many of you have been wondering during this time of coronavirus how to best utilize every gift and blessing that you have for the betterment of the world. The greater evolution or ascension happens through the radical and profound acceptance of yourself.

The more you end your resistance to your humanity, the more you realize that all of these things that you’re trying to bring about in your life naturally exist within you. We do this though relaxing into the parts of us that already is.

Are We Here Yet?

Are We Here Yet?

Like small children, those of us on a spiritual path sometimes want to tug on the sleeve of those walking nearby and ask, “Are we there yet? Are we any closer to enlightenment?” Perhaps the question should be rephrased: “Are we here yet?” Because as long as we see enlightenment as a goal and oneness with God as a destination, we will be forever on the path. “There” seems to imply an ending, the achievement of an intention, the reaching of a final destination, whereas “here” is more about the present moment, right before us. “Be here now,” Ram Dass wrote. In truth, we are always living in the “here” of eternity, an infinite present in which time does not exist. The problem is we can’t recognize it because our vision is blocked by visions of “there.”

Psychic Ability vs. Intuition: What’s the Difference?

portrait-of-sad-young-woman-with-face-protective-mask-looking-through-picture-id1217603648 Psychic Ability vs. Intuition: What’s the Difference?

I've had so many emails and messages about tuning in during these challenging times we continue to face. I know everyone is asking the obvious questions, such as: "How long will it last?", "Am I safe to go out?", "Can I go to the party my family is throwing?" ... and so many more. There are no set answers, but many of you have been asking how to tune into your own inuition at this time. So, I thought it was important to remind you of the primary difference between psychic information and intuitive information.

How do you tell whether you’re getting psychic messages or it’s just a hunch or your imagination? The words psychic and intuition are often used interchangeably. Is there a difference between the two? I’d say that psychic ability is simply the natural extension of our intuition.

What It Takes to Live in the Present Moment

making-time-to-meditate-picture-id492655598 What It Takes to Live in the Present Moment

The allure of living in the present moment is popular but also endangered. The pandemic lockdown has forced millions of people into cramped living conditions that disrupts normal life, puts strain on relationships, adds stress to families, and introduces depression and anxiety. Escaping the present moment is likely to be everyone’s dream.

But the situation will eventually change, and phrases like “the power of now” are embedded in people’s aspirations. The present moment has wound up being a problem and a solution at a same time. The most basic question needs answering, then. Why live in the present moment and how is it achieved?

Sometimes the present moment brings experiences of love, kindness, creativity, beauty, and insight. In those moments no one needs to ask why it’s good to live in the now. (The body’s trillions of cells, including brain cells, don’t ask the question, because they are designed to only live in the present, occupied with thousands of chemical reactions and electrical signaling every second. Even when you recall a past event, your brain is strictly confined to the now in order to retrieve the memory.)

The first thing to notice when you are overtaken by the now is that you didn’t have to work for it. The present moment is always present. The real question is why we aren’t in the present moment. Countless people ae working hard on themselves to stay in the now. But if it takes no work to get a glimpse of the beauty, love, and fulfillment that dawns in the present moment, can we expect that working to get back there is really necessary, or even effective?

Develop the Power of Patience That Perfects Your Life

Develop the Power of Patience That Perfects Your Life Develop the Power of Patience That Perfects Your Life

An essential spiritual force is missing from our lives. We are about to gather ample evidence of this fact, and learn ways to recover this crucial force that we unknowingly give away.

The power we're missing is patience. Real patience is not about waiting for one's expectations to be fulfilled. This is the kind of patience that we have now, and as we will see, it is necessarily filled with impatience; so, it isn't so much that we are actually patient, as it is that we are hanging around, impatiently, waiting for that moment to get what we have hoped for.

This kind of patience is a contrivance. We pretend to have patience while inwardly our own unappeased thoughts and feelings pound on us. What we are about to study are some facts about the true nature of patience, and what it is that we have to acquire – meaning what we have to understand – if there is any chance for any of us to become a different order of human being.

The way our present mind meets life is much like a machine. Most of our lives are spent in automatic reactions to moments where an expectation of ours meets either the fulfillment or the denial of our dreams. We have yet to see that our own conditioned expectations always set us up for a sorrow of some kind or another.

Do your actions inspire others?

dreaming-of-flying-picture-id936435326 Do your actions inspire others?

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more; you are a leader.”

—John Quincy Adams, America’s sixth president and author of the Monroe Doctrine

America was founded on the willingness of everyday people to stand up for what they believe and inspire others to do the same. It is the single, most breathtaking aspect of humanity that, in times of great turmoil and strife, simple individuals step up and become something awesome to behold—they become expressions of the Divine.

It is in this convergence of spiritual people becoming active and active people becoming spiritual that the hope of humanity now rests.

If you want to See the Change, Be the Change.

Letting Go – the Key to Getting What You Really Want

Letting Go – the Key to Getting What You Really Want Letting Go – the Key to Getting What You Really Want

Each time we see the need to let go of something – a bad habit that drags us down, an unsatisfactory relationship, a career choice that can’t complete us in the way we dreamed it would, or maybe unrealistic expectations of ours about others that eventually spoil our partnerships with them – whatever it may be: what is it that’s actually happened in these moments of honest self-examination? See if this simple answer doesn’t describe our situation:

Aren’t we being “asked” to give up an existing relationship in order to make room in our lives for something higher? Of course we are. Then why is it so hard to act on our intuition? After all, who doesn’t want a life that’s better, brighter, and truer?

Here’s why we hesitate to make this exchange, as so many of us do: the real challenge in such moments is that what we must choose in favor of can’t be seen by our physical eyes! Can we see the truth of this, no pun intended?

Inherent in any true spiritual surrender is this one inescapable fact: we can’t hope to realize the actual nature of that new and “greater” relationship we seek until we have released the old one. St. Paul, author of numerous New Testament accounts, best describes what is, ultimately, an indescribable moment:

“Our faith must be in things unseen, and not in things seen; for who hopes for things (already) seen?”

We have within us a miraculous power

thai-buddhist-monk-walks-barefoot-on-an-alms-round-picture-id187028423 We have within us a miraculous power

“We have within us a miraculous power, and if we live our daily lives in mindfulness, if we take steps mindfully, with love and care, we can produce the miracle and transform our world into a miraculous place to live.” — Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, and founder of the Plum Village Tradition

Mindfulness. Presence. Omniscient Wisdom.

These are always right at our fingertips—right here, right now—if only we decide to  claim our rightful inheritance as Divine Co-creators with God.

Many have. And many more are with each passing moment because we are in the time of the Great Awakening. Can you feel it?

We here at Humanity’s Team live and breathe this conscious awareness every day as we come together in collaboration to communicate and share the message of Love, Connection, and Oneness with the world.

We’ve accepted the invitation  to live this way, to bridge any previous gaps between workday and home life, and to share with others, who are receptive to the message, the inevitable grace and ease that come with conscious awareness.

What does this feel like?

How to Heal Your Inner Child

How to Heal Your Inner Child How to Heal Your Inner Child

Once you learn how to heal your inner child, you can begin to overcome your deepest blocks and finally show up as your best self.

Your inner child is the part of you that was formed by the experiences you had in your childhood and that has a powerful influence on how you show up in the world as an adult. If you find yourself engaging in self-destructive behavior or sabotaging yourself with negative self-talk, or reacting too impulsively to situations with anger, frustration, jealousy or fear, that is almost certainly a function of your wounded inner child acting out in anger or pain.

The Drop Is The Ocean Itself

The Drop Is The Ocean Itself The Drop Is The Ocean Itself

We’re alive during an unprecedented time that is calling us to have a radical revolution and redefinition within ourselves. I want you to know that you are God. You are that which you have been looking for outside of yourself. The infinite ocean has been expressing itself as the drop, but the drop is the ocean itself.

It’s time to go beyond any and all forms of separation, any and all forms of duality. It’s time to take our power back from everywhere we have given it away thinking in some way shape or form, that there’s somebody who’s further along, somebody that’s better, somebody that is more evolved or somebody that has a gift that we don’t have.

By virtue of the fact that you are a divine being, you are the source of every single thing.  Everything that you are seeing outside of you is the light not that you are. Everything you are experiencing outside of you is the manifestation of your own state of consciousness.

Nothing and Everything

IMG_2364-1200x900

Sometimes the twists and turns of life on Earth can feel like loss or emptiness, especially now. Yet the greater significance of our experiences may not be completely understood when they occur. Time brings perspective. There are no mistakes, and we are never really lost. Everything we experience provides an opening into greater awareness and an opportunity to grow and trust in the trajectory of our own lives.

A Walking Meditation to Calm Your Anxiety

long-walk-on-the-beach-picture-id1194449388-2 A Walking Meditation to Calm Your Anxiety

With all this people-distancing and being sheltered in place, I really need to get out in the fresh air and walk. I usually take my dog Koda with me, and of course, my mask! I don't pretend for one minute the situation isn't serious, but if you're like me ... it's so important to keep things balanced, and while I take it seriously, I try my hardest to remain realistic and not become neurotic or over-react. Having a dog means I have to take him out every day for a walk, but I find these walks even more meaningful.

So, next time you venture outside for a little unwind time, why don't you try a “walking meditation.” This is where you use the experience of walking as a catalyst to combine movement with inner-calmness. It's all about focusing on the rhythm of walking to the point, where the rest of your mind chatter starts to quieten or even silenced. It really works! Anytime you actively focus your mind on a single activity, you enter some form of tranquillity.

One Word Is The Answer To Everything

woman-on-beach-picture-id168348163 One Word Is The Answer To Everything
"When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily."

The one word that is the answer to everything is “space.” It’s a surprising answer that looks far from obvious, but space joins a long list of candidates as old as the written word. The human mind is fond of putting all its eggs in one basket. If you wanted to answer any question, over the centuries you’d be told to rely on one word. In an age of faith the word was God; today it is science. Other one-word possibilities have had their appeal: reason is big, so is love. “All you need is love” is a Beatles lyric that moves the heart, and at the other end of the spectrum, cosmologists searching for a Theory of Everything to unite the fundamental forces in nature stake their hopes on their favorite word, mathematics.

But in many ways space is the one word that satisfies the clashing claims of love, reason, God, and science. Space allows us to embrace all of them. Here’s how the argument goes. In between every thought there is a gap, a space that divides mental activity into discrete feelings, sensations, images, and thoughts. Spacing makes separate words intelligible. We inhabit a personal space that we don’t like others to intrude upon. Outer space contains every physical object in creation. Inner space is the domain of the psyche. Between them, the space “out there” and “in here” embraces all of existence.

Increasing Consciousness Through Action

beautiful-nature-backgroundmacro-shot-of-amazing-spring-flowersart-picture-id1150412944 Increasing Consciousness Through Action

At any moment, you are consciousness involved in a nature package.

The nature package includes your heredity, your environment, all of your personality characteristics, all of the opportunities that exist at this moment, all of your attitudes, all of your predispositions, it’s the whole package. That package is functioning under the laws of karma or the laws of the universe. That package is unfolding; it’s just lawfully working itself out.

As you get more conscious, every act you perform increases the amount of the consciousness in the universe, because the act itself conveys the consciousness.

It’s quite apparent that as you work on yourself, on your consciousness, you continue to do whatever dance you’re doing, the dance evolves. You begin to see how the acts you perform can become more and more optimum to the conditions. For instance, when you’re about to change a law in a country you stand back, and you begin to understand the way the whole system works, and you see what the optimum act you can do is, and you perform it totally, without emotional attachment to that act, and instead an awareness of how that act works in the whole system.

Firmly Anchored in the Present Moment

Firmly-Anchored Firmly Anchored in the Present Moment

We are in the midst of a global awakening. We are being provided an opportunity to be freed of everything that is based in survival and to evolve in the fullness of who we have come here to be. At our most authentic, we are our most powerful.

When I first began observing meditation, mediation techniques, and how meditation itself was being taught, I began to realize that simply resting in the awareness of the breath allowed us to become firmly anchored in the present moment, and that it actually transformed our meditative experience from being one that we do for 20 minutes in the morning, and 20 minutes in the evening, into being a living experience of meditation.

Telling A New Story – Oracle Of The 7 Energies

watching-sunrise-throught-a-lens-ball-riviera-romagnola-picture-id980949016 Telling A New Story – Oracle Of The 7 Energies

Throughout recorded history — and long before — humankind has recognized the sacred energy that courses through each and every living thing. Many cultures and philosophies recognize the seven sacred energies of life, each with a separate center and a separate wisdom of their own. They represent seven themes that we experience through the stories about life we tell ourselves, whether we’re aware of it or not.

When you do become aware of these energies and these stories, you can activate and balance them, you widen your potential by moving into wholeness.

Doing this kind of energy work is a way to look at the totality of your life’s stories — the way you think, how you make choices, and what you encounter within yourself — as well as the conditions of your world as you journey forward. It’s so, so important that I created my brand-new deck, Oracle of the 7 Energies, around this concept!

While the seven energy centers work together synergistically, it’s also critical to understand and look at them individually as well. That’s why I want to take you through each of the energies so you can begin to understand their importance, the related story, and where you may need to put some attention (and intention!).

Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness

Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness Re-imagining our role in the great shift in consciousness

There is something really important that is not getting much attention in the media or on social networks, so I’m going to share my thoughts about it with you today..

It is the pivot that is necessary as we come out of COVID-19, the death of George Floyd, and other injustice occurring in today’s world.

We must shift from an unconscious pattern of living on the Earth to a conscious design and an elevated humanity supporting the well-being and balance for all living species.

Our way of living on the Earth is not sustainable. We’ve lost our sense of cohesion with nature, the Divine, and life. Collectively, we’ve been barreling down a dangerous path toward a future that leaves our children and future generations very exposed.

And we can all feel the effects of this now.

Can You Keep On Loving?

IMG_2294-1200x900

If you believe that love is humanity’s greatest hope and clearest path to a more compassionate inclusive planet, how are you feeling right now? When people seem to be hating one another with greater intensity. When rage and violent outbursts are becoming more common. Those who wear masks vs. those who refuse to; those who believe Black Lives Matter vs. those who deny it. Science vs. religion, Democrats vs. Republicans, health and safety vs. economic “recovery.” Individuals of different races, ages, nationalities, and belief systems fighting over statues and guns and face coverings. Where does unconditional love and kindness come into play in the midst of all this? Can we love our neighbor if our neighbor hates us?
