A Courageous Heart: Connected or Disconnected

human-and-space-the-concept-of-the-composition-of-progress-science-picture-id936885928 A Courageous Heart: Connected or Disconnected

How important is our purview?

How does it emerge?

How does it affect our relationship to ourselves, nature, the world, the Cosmos even the Divine?

Throughout centuries we have personally and collectively developed how we see things, what our current lens is, defined and named ourselves and others by it and evolved in certain directions within it. Current worldviews can emerge from scientific perspectives as well as family, community and personal experiences, ancestral inheritance etc appearing at best incomplete and at times inaccurate, unnatural.

As we begin to understand the true nature of our existence, who we are, what we innately carry within our DNA codes and the fundamental patterns of the Universe, we begin another journey of evolution that brings all into alignment, coherency, connectivity and presence, an opportunity to choose harmony, synchronicity, peace, internal power from the innate genius that resides within the deepest part of us.

Wakeup to the Fullness of Who You Are

Wakeup-to-Fullness Wakeup to the Fullness of Who You Are

We are all navigating our way through this unprecedented moment in human history with love in our hearts, knowing all that we need will be provided, knowing that we are connected, knowing that we are aligned, knowing that we are a divine being who is awakening to our divine potential.

Everything is God. Everyone is God. There is nothing that exists in this world that is not God. It’s time to wake up to the fullness of who we are and to live in that. Once we break free from that fear-based egoic shell that we believe we need to defend our powerless and hopeless parts, we awaken to the being that we are, to the light that we are, to the luminous presence that we are.  In that awakening, we transform our life into one that is filled with light.

This is the power that you have. This is the opportunity that you have in this moment

Spirituality: Learn To Make Yourself Available to Life

Spirituality: Learn To Make Yourself Available to Life Spirituality: Learn To Make Yourself Available to Life

The beautiful thing is that if you ask ten different people what spirituality means to them, you’re likely to get ten different answers, which makes it clear that spirituality truly is a highly individualized process and experience. Nobody owns it—not Buddhists or Hindus, Christians or Muslims, atheists or Jews. The abridged definition I most often use is simply: waking up. Spirituality is an interior journey, one that takes us beneath the surface of who and what we think we are and guides each of us home to our truest Self.

Spirituality emerges and grows from our individual experience of Spirit. I encourage you to become your own spiritual scientist. Be curious and, with an open heart and mind, explore what does—and does not—resonate for you on the spiritual path.

Hey, I love to zone out and watch The Walking Dead as much as the next guy, but once that hour of zombierific goodness is over, it’s over, and then what?

There are, of course, some pitfalls that can come with this path of direct connection. Here are two things to be aware of: when turning to your heart’s guidance, watch out for any hidden, self-serving, or distorting motives; and don’t allow your spiritual path to become one that is focused only on yourself and does not serve others in some way.

Choose to Go Higher

woman-making-heart-frame-on-spectacular-landscape-in-hawaii-from-top-picture-id1192417995 Choose to Go Higher

Our lives are the experience (or the reflection) of whatever presence we may share… and this holds true for all of our moments. We are primarily, first and foremost, creatures of consciousness. What does this mean?

Our real -- but still hidden -- life is an expression and extension of eternal forces, even though we are presently well grounded in the sensual, physical life. As such, we remain bound in this realm's limited and unconscious circle of relationships. But we need not remain unwilling captives of this lower order. We may choose higher.

Our as yet realized heritage is that we may choose, through higher self-awareness coupled with conscious discernment, what order of presence we wish to share, what presence we agree to allow within us. Think what this discovery means to us.

It is our choice whether to dwell within the temporary or the permanent -- whether we run with the stream that pours itself into the desert and disappears, or dwell within the ocean that feeds all such passing pools. We are empowered to choose whether to give ourselves over to what hurts us, or to what heals us.

The End of Time...

“Who wants to live forever?
Who dares to love forever?”
—Brian May

In the Western world, time tells us when we are born and when we die. Based on calculated averages, we know approximately how long we’ll live. We go through our lives with a clock ticking away in the background, measuring out the years we have lived and those we have left. This “knowledge” influences everything we say or do, every decision we make. In fact, it permeates our entire culture: education, employment, medicine, insurance, religion, marriage, law, property. Our lives are shaped by time’s constraints. Yet physicists tell us that time and space are human inventions, a way to quantify something that is unquantifiable.

You Are Enough – Trust and Surrender

iStock-1193218253 You Are Enough – Trust and Surrender
“No matter where you are, you feel at home, because that feeling of home is the Divine within you.”

When you are in a state of trust and surrender, you are acknowledging that there is an organizing principle taking care of you. You are accepting the truth that reality is on your side. You are defining your human experience as one in which all that you need will come to you. The more you relax into that receiving, the faster it shows up as a physical manifestation in reality.

Surrender allows you to relinquish your personal will and align with Divine will. Trust naturally arises from within through the gradual surrendering of your individual wants.

Conscious awareness, expanded mindfulness, acceptance, alignment, and harmony are all part of the greater awakening that tells you it’s okay to release your grip. Trust and surrender are whispering to you that you can end your suffering and find peace.

Find What’s Sacred

candle-picture-id639302904 Find What’s Sacred

What’s precious to you?

The Practice:
Find what’s sacred.

Why?

The word, sacred, has two kinds of meanings. First, it can refer to something related to religion or spirituality. Second, more broadly, it can refer to something that one cherishes, that is precious, to which one is respectfully, even reverently, dedicated, such as honesty with one’s life partner, old growth redwoods, human rights, the light in a child’s eyes, or longings for truth and justice and peace.

Both senses of the word touch me deeply. But many people relate to just one meaning, which is fine. You can apply what I’m saying here to either or both meanings.

You Are Enough – The Five Commitments

comittments You Are Enough – The Five Commitments

“Commitment creates intention, and intention makes a desire worthy of manifestation.”

When you elevate and prioritize a goal or desire, you dedicate your intelligence and power to it. And when you bring your intelligence and power to bear on a goal, it comes into being.

I offer you the following five commitments. Allow them to become the foundation that powers your expansion.

#1: Commit to Knowing Your Essential Self

To commit to your Essential Self is to fully employ the power of Divine Intelligence in your life, letting go of the attachments and expectations that cloud its transmission. In truth, you are the Observer of this life. It is grace that is guiding the unfolding of your evolution. Grace powers revelation; grace reveals oneness and your life’s purpose. It is grace that restores full remembrance of your Essential Self. This discovery, this unfolding, this realization, and this revelation is your commitment

Mark Nepo's Weekly Reflection: How Can You Still Make This About You?

austin-neill-0A_b9G-Rm6w-unsplash Mark Nepo's Weekly Reflection: How Can You Still Make This About You?

I thought after death had its way with us, you would have stopped trying to get somewhere. You would have stopped making up conclusions. But you still take what you go through and force it on others, making the world into a silhouette of your pain. Yet this never frees us. We just keep praying to what is missing. I know. For I painted the strangers I met while lost with the colors of my sadness, wondering if anything mattered. Then, just as I was about to give up, something gave way, including my want to make everything like me. Sure, it was frightening. But when the Mystery of Oneness washed over me, experience dropped me into the common well below our names, where what happens to one of us happens to all of us. And then, the way a boulder tired of holding on slips into the sea scattering the fish into a glimmering pool of light, I began to cascade anonymously. Now, I can only say that though what pains us may be different, where it hurts is always the same.

This is how we find each other.

The One Habit that Changes Everything

close-up-peaceful-woman-sitting-in-lotus-pose-and-meditating-picture-id114369663_20200706-140253_1 The One Habit that Changes Everything

In this moment, an energy of CHANGE is rising on our planet. We are being called to look at ourselves and the world at large, and ask not only which overt sentiments and societal structures or institutions need to change, but also to look clearly at our own lives and ask:

What is it that’s driving me in a habitual, unconscious kind of way?

Our habits are patterns of energy that run through our system and affect our lives, whether we are aware of them or not. In looking at our lives, we all have certain habits we would like to actively or consciously change. We can also see the outcome of existing habits that have subconsciously collected over time.

We recognize both these manifestations of habits in our lives. Sometimes they’re easy to change… and sometimes not.

Your Unique Soul Journey

IMG_1953-1200x900

Our soul journeys—how we find our way to recognizing the enlightenment or God that lives within us—are completely unique to each of us. I mean completely. Even your closest friend or wisest spiritual teacher is not on exactly the same path as you. We need to remember and honor the wisdom within us that is our guide in this, especially now at this time of such tumultuous change in the external world. The old religious structures that prescribed certain behaviors and beliefs, monitored by an external authority figure, are not the wave of the future. Neither are current spiritual programs that revolve around the popularity of one teacher or speaker. Previous paradigms of all kinds are falling away. We may eventually live in a “flexi-paradigm,” part of an ever-evolving and expansive collective consciousness. Within that, each one of us is singular, unrepeatable.

Spiritual Hope

light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel-picture-id1178069135 Spiritual Hope

Spiritual hope opens us to possibility and energizes us to manifest our potential for love and wisdom. In contrast to attachment or egoic hope, which is the grasping for what will benefit a separate self, spiritual hope arises from trust in the openhearted awareness (bodhichitta) that is always and already within us. This talk explores how, as individuals and as a society, we can nourish spiritual hope, and create the grounds for healing and radical transformation.

“The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof. What I want is so simple I almost can’t say it: elementary kindness.”

You Are Enough – Harmony

harmony You Are Enough – Harmony

“Harmony is authenticity. It is the essential nature of everything.”

When you feel dissonance, that is an invitation to return to harmony. Dissonance is a vibrational experience that is egoically based. Harmony and peace are vibrational experiences that exist on the level of the soul. When you are at peace, you are aligned with the soul. Everything else is ego.

Your Essential Self, pure Being, is what harmonizes life. It is the foundation that stabilizes everything else. It is always there, but so often obscured and forgotten. When it’s consciously present, consciously remembered and experienced, then you have restored wholeness and connection.

Harmony arises when you reconnect with, remember, and realize the bigger part of you that was forgotten and hidden. This is the ultimate alignment: the role with the Essential Self. This is the restoration of oneness. You are more than your thoughts and feelings and body. You are more than your created self. You are universal consciousness.

An Invitation to Outgrow Your Limitations

businesswoman-struggles-to-carry-large-stone-in-office-setting-picture-id927530086 An Invitation to Outgrow Your Limitations

Have you ever noticed how the more negative you get, the more difficult everything about your life becomes, including being able to do the simplest things? It’s like suddenly sinking into dark molasses, where not only can’t you move, but everything you don’t want seems stuck to you!

To the spiritually uninitiated, it feels as if you’ve been dropped into a river of resistance but, in truth, you are being pulled into it by a lower level of self that wants you to look at whatever challenges you in life as an adversary. Its attempt at deception—to negatively alter your perception—is the only power it has to keep you from seeing unwanted moments as they are in reality: an invitation from the Divine to outgrow your present limitations. Regardless of the nature of the trial set before you, it asks, “Would you like to live in a larger world—one without fear? Do you want to be less worried or angry and more at peace with yourself?”

Your Are Enough – Enter The Heart

iStock-1198297154 Your Are Enough – Enter The Heart

“Your heart is also what allows you to embrace the deepest, darkest parts of your created self and bring them into resolution.”

The result of acceptance and vibrational transformation is not that you become a doormat. It is not an excuse to do nothing about your situation, whether it is an abusive relationship, a job that is unsupportive, or a dear family member who is taking advantage of your good heart and pocket book. Quite the opposite, vibrational transformation sets the stage for empowered, inspired, dynamic action.

These deepest, darkest parts of yourself are usually found cloaked in the guises of your sub-personalities. Sub-personalities are egoic adaptations that help you navigate the world—coping mechanisms that protect you from feeling your perceived lack of worth and lovability.

6 Tips for Using Mindfulness to Navigate Grief

festive-candles-picture-id597644104 6 Tips for Using Mindfulness to Navigate Grief

The world is struggling under the weight of grief right now; there’s no denying it. With the renewed fight to end racial injustice and the lingering realities of the coronavirus pandemic and all its implications, we all have a lot on our emotional plates.

As of this writing, around 119,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the United States alone, and numbers continue to rise. People are grieving loved ones lost to the pandemic, lives destroyed by racial violence, and dreams crushed by cancelled graduations and weddings. Grief takes many forms, and it happens when we are in mourning for someone or something lost to us that has a huge impact on our lives.

If you are grieving, you are not alone — and you don’t need to suffer in silence. Mindfulness is a gentle and effective tool any of us can use to lessen the weight of grief as we navigate it. Give yourself a little present, right here and now, and try one or more of these mindfulness tips. As the saying goes: pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

It’s a Vital Time to Feed Your Soul

meditation-and-spirituality-at-home-picture-id1141210149 It’s a Vital Time to Feed Your Soul

Now that we’re staying at home, it’s getting harder to find peace and contentment.  I believe, above all right now, it’s most important to continually feed our souls.

When the outside world becomes so stressful that your anxiety starts to overwhelm you, stop and ask yourself: “When was the last time I checked in with myself?” You’ve got to learn to pull back from the stresses and strains of our current situation and make time to seek out that inner place of silence, calmness and peace.

Meditation can do all that! It can also positively affect your health, which I call the extra benefit.  For instance, the sense of relaxation and calmness that results from meditating can enhance your immune system, as well as reduce your blood pressure. Additionally, it can increase your physical energy as well as your overall well-being.

The 3-Minute Quick Meditation Guide

meditation-by-the-lake-picture-id487173784 The 3-Minute Quick Meditation Guide

I want to teach you a simple 3-minute meditation that will help you quiet your mind and become more centered and present in the moment – no matter what is happening in the world around you.

Despite meditation being such a powerful and important success tool, a lot of people are wary about meditation. They’re either skeptical of the benefits or they worry that it might go against their own personal religious beliefs.

The reality is, anyone will benefit from meditation if practiced regularly—both in their mental and physical well-being.

Getting Started With 3×3 Mediation

Meditation, while it can be used with a spiritual intent, is simply a matter of learning how to quiet the constant “monkey-chatter” in your mind and allow you to consciously think better thoughts.

My friend Dina Proctor encourages people to try what she calls 3×3 meditation, which is doing a 3-minute meditation three times a day.

Most people, when they start to meditate have difficulty sitting for longer than three minutes at a time. When you begin the 3-minute meditation it can be hard to just meditate.

A 3×3 meditation is simply breathing and being with whatever thoughts you’re having for 3 minutes at a time, 3 times a day.

Have you ever had a light bulb moment when a fresh new idea came to you? My favorite time of day for Aha! moments is first thing in the morning, laying in bed, calm and supported. Resting in a receptive atmosphere, observing my thoughts, feelings and sensations without resistance or judgement.

The first three skills of Harmony are,
1. Feel your heartbeat
2. Breathe
3. Rest into calm

This is what I call a Harmony Refresh. It is the foundation of everything I do in the Heartful Harmony System. This creates a fertile environment for every heart desire.

The Harmony Refresh skill is easy to learn. For a free pdf guide and more information Click Here

THE FOURTH SKILL OF HARMONY is the first of four power boosts to amplify the effects of a Harmony Refresh.
