This morning was no exception. I left my house at sunrise, with my four-legged trail companion. As we climbed up into the valley, we could see hot air balloons in the distance. A couple minutes later, a coyote with a stunning coat of reds, browns and white colors, met us on the trail. He paused, and looked at us before he dropped off into a ravine.

For example, work is showing you where you are still anxious. Relationships, as well as ex-husbands and ex-wives, are showing you where you are living in victim consciousness. Children are showing you where you feel guilty or ashamed. Your life is showing you who you are internally.

I recently made plans to meet a few friends for dinner. It’s been such a long time since we’ve gotten together and we were all feeling upbeat and ready for a night out at our favorite restaurant. As we were all catching up with each other’s lives, the waitress came to take our order.

It was pretty obvious that our waitress was having a bad day. She was less than friendly and not hiding how irritated she was. Instead of getting upset, irritated or angry myself, I decided to use a technique that I was taught many years ago. I still use it whenever I encounter someone who is angry, annoyed or just in a bad mood.

I decided to send the waitress positive, calming energy with my thoughts and surround her with white light. I took a moment to imagine this positive light entering her heart center. I did this as she took our order.

When our food was ready, the waitress brought it to our table and you could see she was more engaging. Her face was less tense and she actually began to laugh with us!

When the waitress left our table, my friends looked at each other and then at me. “Did you do something, John?” I told them I just sent her positive energy to help ease her mood, and possibly help her have a better night.

There is no good reason, from everything science tells us, why the human body shouldn’t be perfect. The scientific model builds Nature up from the simplest, smallest components to the largest and most complex. There is no doubt that at the smallest scale subatomic particles, atoms and molecules, and are perfect, because they have endured without change for billions of years.

Did imperfections arise with the beginning of life on Earth? Single-cell microorganisms are thousands, perhaps millions, of times larger and more complex than the smallest molecules that they are built from. But one-celled creatures have endured for something like 3.5 billion years. Since they reproduce by cell division, the most ancient forms of amoebas, algae, protists, and so on are actually still with us–literally the first amoeba has never died or aged.  Life forms with complex structures constitute much less than one percent of living things; a bucket of ocean water is likely to contain hundreds of unknown variations on their DNA.

Imperfection gained the stage thanks to the same force that produced perfection: evolution. We suffer from disease, resist ageing, and fear death, but all of these are creative steps as far as evolution is concerned, since evolution triumphs through maximum diversity and an endless supply of new genes leading to improvements.

The easiest way to measure your beliefs in the power of this truth is to notice if you are feeling disconnected or drained rather than energized or impassioned about your life.

The flow of life cannot reach you if you are blocked with layers and layers of protection.Or if your attitude is of a fixed position. Or if you are unwilling to start waking up so new energy can flow through you.

As long as you believe you are the producer of your own energy, you will often be tired and weary and feel there is never enough. You do, of course, play a significant role in creating and maintaining your own energy by getting proper rest and nutrition. However, you are not the producer of your own vibrant energy any more than you had to think about breathing today before you took your first breath.

7 Buddha Postures for the 7 Days of the Week

In 2018, I took a beautiful group of souls to Thailand for a trip of a lifetime. Twenty-seven of us spent two weeks in this amazing country – on the beach (Phuket), in the city (Bangkok), and in the mountains (Chang Mai). The trip truly was one of the best experiences of my life and I’ve heard from several of our group that it was theirs as well.

While there, we learned that depending on the day you were born, you had a particular buddha pose that was just for you. (Well, you and the millions born on that day ? My mom had told me that I was born on a Wednesday, but when I tuned into the Wednesday buddha, it didn’t feel right. Once I Googled it, I discovered I was born on a Tuesday. My buddha is the “Realizing Nirvana” – Pang Sai Yat – otherwise known as the lying buddha. We all had such a great time connecting with our buddhas that I thought I’d share with you the summary list below.

Why Do You Feel So Drained?

One of my favorite sayings is “Imagine yourself as a being of energy and light—because in reality…you are!” We’re in fact energetic sentient beings and we often forget just how precious and important this vital energy is to our body as well as our Soul.

This energy, this life force is Spirit that fuels all life. Spirit is the spark or the portion of the Divine Source that’s in all of us and every living thing. It has a consciousness of its own. This spirit force is known as “Chi” (prana in Sanskrit).

Here’s a brief summary of Chi:

  • Your Chi carries your thoughts, belief and emotions while mixing with the energy around you.
  • You radiate Chi all around you, sending out your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.
  • You can change your Chi internally by activities such as meditation, stretching or breathing.

Sometimes, energetic cords emanate from you and become attached to certain worries and even people that you think about excessively. When you spend too much time mulling over something that’s bothering you or a person who has hurt you—the thicker the cord becomes.

It’s everything there is. Nothing is missing. Yet we feel like something is missing when we are identified as the protective personality. We misperceive our ability to be a self-healer and heal. To be our “wholeness” in life and engage with others without reacting. 

If we identify as the one who generates our life experience, instead of responding to “out there,” we are able to manifest the life we desire. This is the truth of who we are. Yet we often forget to consciously identify as the self-healer…

The missing key—we are made of love.

Renewal is inevitable and it’s a universal law of creation. Everything is in some phase or state of renewal at all times, and human beings are no exception to this natural law. Looking to the nature of a butterfly — a larva that within its cocoon that rests, grows, gestates, and comes to be a butterfly as we see them, flying on beautifully ornate wings — tells us how renewal works. It also tells us that some phases of this ongoing cycle do not always feel good, even though we can survive and thrive through all its various phases.
