Dis-ease Is Not Inherited

Dis-ease Is Not Inherited - Dr. Rev. Temple Hayes

A disease prompted Myrtle Fillmore to pursue a balanced life, and this pursuit led to her healing and the birth of the Unity Movement.Though diagnosed with tuberculosis, she would say repeatedly,“I am a child of God; therefore, I do not inherit disease.”

As children of God, we do not have to accept the human race conditioning which says we will inherit or adopt the same aches and ailments common among our family members.

4 Ways to Know You Are Growing Spiritually

4 Ways to Know You Are Growing Spiritually - Kute Blackson

1. You start losing interest in “yourself.” You find yourself less and less interested in your story. You know who you really are, you know that you are NOT your story. And as a result your taste for the drama that comes along with it starts falling away. You lose interest in drama. Drama simply gives you a false sense of aliveness. When you are in tune with your real self, you are connected to the source of aliveness, thus you are fulfilled. You no longer need drama as a superficial way to try and feel alive.

2. You become less judgmental. The world we live in is a realm of duality. As you grow spiritually you begin seeing beyond right and wrong. Right and wrong is a perception based on your ego’s conditioning. It’s subjective based on the collective cultural agreement. As you grow spiritually you free yourself from the prison of your identity and you move beyond duality. You start seeing life from a higher perspective. As a result, you are more able to see the whole picture and able to honor each person’s soul evolution. You realize that EVERYTHING is perfect for your own soul’s evolution even if it doesn’t seem that way at first. You may still feel the feelings that arise but are able to see the inherent perfection and not get stuck there.

The Elephant Itself

The Elephant Itself - Panache Desai

In mystical and esoteric circles, they have this romantic notion of purpose, you’re meant to go on a quest, find an undiscovered pyramid or liberate some crystal skulls. In reality, you are the medicine. You are the solution. The unfolding of your life is the how.

Is Your Spiritual Platform Heart Centered, Intellectual or Dogmatic?

Is Your Spiritual Platform Heart Centered, Intellectual or Dogmatic?

There are many different types of spirituality. When working with my clients, I mostly see people that are either heart centered, dogmatic, intellectual or a combination of these types of practices. Is one belief system better than another?

Have you ever wondered if your spiritual platform is heart centered, intellectual or dogmatic?

As I started to write this blog, I had an idea of how I would share the different types of spirituality, and then I received a phone call. A client contacted me to say she needed to reschedule our next appointment because she had been in an accident.

Is Intuition The Same As A Gut Feeling?!

colette6.7.22 Is Intuition The Same As A Gut Feeling?!

Do you ever doubt your intuition?

Learning to fine tune your inner guidance system takes time, awareness, and practice. As human beings, we have to learn to sort through our many emotions, our egos, and our thoughts and learn to discern what is true guidance from our intuition.

You may have heard that your intuition is the same as your “gut feeling,” and while it’s true that your body is the instrument of intuition,  true intuitive guidance is so much MORE than just a gut feeling.

Your intuition is kind of like a radio – tuned into a frequency I like to call “Soul Fm.” It allows you to pick up on the many signs, feelings, and factors that come together to give you guidance and direction from the Universe. It’s both deeper and wider than just the internal nudges you feel that guide you toward or away from something.

I Am That

I Am That - Peggy Kornegger

The Ham-sa (or So-ham) mantra has been used by yogis and meditators for centuries to align with the breath—inhalation and exhalation—and experience divine connection, or Presence. One translation of the Sanskrit syllables is “I Am That,” meaning: all that is, or the universe. The repetition of these sacred sounds centers meditators in the stillness within and connects them to universal consciousness. With consistent daily practice (sitting or walking), an individual can increase awareness of both inner and outer Presence, ultimately discovering that they are one and the same.

What Is Our Reality?

What Is Our Reality? - Temple Hayes

There is a wonderful quote from Shakespeare’s Hamlet: “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” Many people label their experiences as good and bad, and these labels define their realities. Oftentimes they say,“This is just the way I am. This is my reality.” People may get very comfortable with and accept what they have been told, or state that what is is all there will ever be in their lives.

Reality with a capital R is the absolute truth of God. Reality with a small r is that which we have labeled our truth. We are fortunate when the Reality of God and our reality go hand in hand. We can always change our reality if we are willing to draw from God’s greater truth.

Walk Out of the World of Little “I’s”

Walk Out of the World of Little “I’s” - Guy Finley

When you look at a flower in springtime, standing there with its beautiful petals and leaves, can you understand that flower is not the life alone that you see coming out of the ground? That flower belongs to a much greater life than the individual expression that you behold and say, “Isn’t that beautiful?” You could never experience the radiance of the flower or utter those words if it were not for the fact that the life of that creation itself belongs to a body, a universe of life from out of which that one flower comes.

But we don't see the bigger life behind the little one. We only see the little life… which incidentally is why people fear death, because they only see the little life. They know nothing of the bigger life from out of which the little life has come.

Find the Holy in Your Daily

Find the Holy in Your Daily - Maria Shriver

This past Sunday was Palm Sunday, a day I really looked forward to as a child. When I was growing up, I loved the end of each Palm Sunday church service because it meant I would receive a palm. I would spend the rest of that day trying to turn it into something it wasn’t.

Those of us with creative minds enjoy turning a blank canvas into something new. I’ve always had an active imagination, and I’ve always loved looking ahead, imagining what could be, and then working towards making that dream a reality. Sometimes it’s as small as trying to turn a palm into a crucifix, or a garden into a meditative space, or a cluttered room into a streamlined and peaceful oasis. Other times it’s a grander goal. Regardless of the size of one’s dreams, I believe everyone’s mind is capable of imagining what can be. I believe everyone can envision something to make our world better than it is today.

Today, we are constantly inundated with advice urging us to be more, do more, and accomplish more, as if we aren’t enough already. So, we bend ourselves trying to become someone who others will admire. We try to mold ourselves into people we think will be loved. We try to keep up. I think we do this because we don’t believe in our own divinity. We do it because society leads us to believe that we are not enough on our own.

Are You Awake?

Are You Awake? - Temple Hayes

First, you must realize you are asleep, then you are awake.
Then you must die, so you can be born.
You can not be born until you die and you can not die until you wake.
Jungian psychology

I have always enjoyed the story of a multitude of people with Buddha wanting to know how he was so illumined and how he was such a healer and how he could change the vibration of darkness into light. As everyone was awaiting for the lengthy, complicated answer, he replied,” I am awake.”

Without a Label

Without a Label

A good friend of mine recently told me that she loves my writing but doesn’t necessarily relate to the God references. She said she believes in something but doesn’t really have a label for it. She’s not alone. So many of us (myself included) have felt exactly the same at one time or another in our lives. And truthfully we don’t need a label–often language misses the point entirely. Some people and traditions prefer to leave the idea of a creator-being unnamed. Many Native Americans use the words “the Great Mystery.” Makes complete sense to me. I wasn’t raised in a religion, and I used to be put off by the groups who would go around house to house proselytizing about God. That word remained a negative trigger for me right up into adulthood, when I began my own spiritual exploration.

My first attempt at explaining how I thought of spirit at the time was the word “meaning.” I believed there was meaning in the universe because I could feel it in my heart. That’s as far as it went for a while. Eventually, I came to see that the word or description didn’t matter as much as the experience itself. I lost most of my objections to words and labels like God or Divinity. Still, I try to be low key about using them when I write because I know many people are uncomfortable about naming something that is in essence nameless. And it’s unnecessary. The deeper I dive into my soul, the more words fall away entirely. I experience a beingness or oneness that defies description.

Expressing The Totality Of Your Light And Love

Expressing The Totality Of Your Light And Love - Panache Desai

There comes a point in everyone’s life where their reason for being begins to make complete sense. Up until that moment it just feels confusing, and for the most part, you just don’t want to be here. But we are now at a point in human history where we are ending an age and beginning a new one.

And in the ending of that age, we have to remember that it is our role to advocate on behalf of every single human being on the planet. We are a global family. Every morning during our Call to Calm Meditation, we have people from every corner of the globe; different races, different religions, different sexual orientations, different political beliefs. In spite of all of our conditioned and programmed differences, we continue to be unified at the level of the heart and celebrate the freedom that we have discovered within ourselves.

The Living, Breathing Record of Your Unconscious

The Living, Breathing Record of Your Unconscious- Panache Desai

The Last part of us to shift is the body. In India, when all of the different practices were created, they were created to work on us in different ways. And the reason for that is they understood that we exist at different rates of vibration. Emotions exist at a different rate of vibration, thought exists at a different rate of vibration, and the body exists in a different vibration.

It’s time we address the body. Your body is like a hard drive. What is it recording? It’s recording the residual memory of you – who you used to be, how you used to be, emotions from the past. Your body is a living, breathing record of your unconscious. This is why in mystery schools and ancient transformative processes, there was always a physical component to one’s development. Because at some point, there has to be a cellular rotation and as a result, a vibrational rotation within one’s being

Imagine for a moment if the body is the hard drive, then the identity is what is continuing to hold the pain, the trauma, the suffering, the separation in place. Whatever is happening in your body is because of who you are at the level of your identity.

Soul Presence

Soul Presence - Peggy Kornegger

The world is changing so fast we can hardly keep track of it. Reports on what is or isn’t happening clash with one another on a daily basis, both in the media and among those we know. “Reality” as a perceivable, agreed-upon entity no longer exists, if it ever did (the emperor’s clothes have disappeared). Time as we knew it has also ceased to exist. So how do we navigate this seemingly chaotic and uncertain path before us? One clue is that it is no longer a place for human identities (names, family roles, job descriptions). What lies ahead is completely unknown and can only be approached as a spiritual mystery and soul adventure.

We are moving ever more rapidly into the time of Soul Presence. It’s been a long time coming. And I don’t just mean since the flower children of the 60s called out the Age of Aquarius. I mean millennia. Thousands and thousands of years in the making, with incarnation after incarnation of spiritual seekers and masters moving forward and shining an ever-brighter light. Today we have finally reached the era of collective enlightenment. No more gurus, priests, leaders, or authorities of any kind. It is dawning on each of us that we carry the wisdom and light inside us. God is within, not sitting on a distant throne issuing orders. God and soul are one. We living beings on a living planet are One.

When we awaken fully to that oneness, our separate identities and polarized world views will dissolve. Our souls will emerge in full presence and meet with loving-kindness and compassion, instead of the competitiveness and self-centeredness that formed our old personalities. The harshness of ego gives way to the softness of soul. Fear of survival and the illusion of control are replaced with trust in a perfectly designed divine unfolding. That is why so much is falling away and there is no longer truth or time. We have no idea what is ahead, but more and more we can see a light shining, from within us and from the Earth herself. “We are stardust; we are golden,” Joni Mitchell wrote so many years ago. And the flowering garden of light in our future is being born from that golden stardust that makes up our souls.
