Demonstration - Temple Hayes

The demonstration of our good is evident through the laws of life which are always working. We have the ability to demonstrate and measure our good by being able to see and create what we desire. Many people do not believe they can have what they desire; therefore, they do not ask for what they truly want. They believe that to gain their desires they must rely upon themselves and their limited resources rather than asking God.We say in Unity,“we ask what and leave the how up to God.” How big is our demonstration? How big is our belief and how strong is our faith in God?

Quiet Genius: THE POWER OF ONENESS

templeh11.14
I have had the great blessings of being with Unity and Science of Mind all of my adult life.

When people ask me the biggest difference between the two organizations, I always say, “Leadership.” It’s really the consciousness of the leader which creates community and the way he or she shares the principles. I loved the many years serving as a Science of Mind minister and frequenting the beautiful grounds of Asilomar for our conventions.

As I reflect upon my life and my mission of uniting differences, I feel one of my biggest passions has been to show people the importance of understanding how related both Unity and Science of Mind teachings are. I consider it especially important to show the relationship between the two spiritual pathways, now at this time in history, as we are sharing dreams and visions with our global communities about practicing and living from a place of oneness.

Before this week even started, I knew that I wanted to write my essay this Sunday about inclusion and unity.

I knew that I wanted to write about pushing for change. About staying the course. About the power that one voice and one idea can have in making a difference. About how people can mobilize around that one idea and work together to change families, change futures, change lives, and change our entire society for the better.

I wanted to write about all of this because, this past week, the Special Olympics — the program that my mother started in our own backyard – turned 50 years old! My family and the larger Special Olympics family came together to celebrate in Chicago, the site of the very first games. We were joined by many familiar faces, as well as lots of new ones who showed up to lend their voices and support to this important cause. It was a wow on every level. (Thank you, Chance the Rapper, Smokey Robinson, and all the other artists who performed at the celebration concert last night.)
