Intentional Spirit: DO IT NOW

Many people stop just before the diet really works or right before they finish a project that could lead them to a new sense of accomplishment.
It is too easy at times to walk away and “get by” with just enough at the end of the day rather than asking ourselves, “Did I give this day, this moment, this relationship, this client all I have? Was I totally present in the moment?” I realized this a number of years ago during counseling sessions. I noticed clients talked about every subject in the world and only addressed the real issue during the last five minutes of our time together. What is the tendency within us to delay or put off what we really need to address or confront within ourselves? Life is energy, inertia, and movement. When we delay our story, our story is delayed. When we wait to see what happens, we begin to live in what can happen rather than what is happening.

Don’t wait in your life, at your work, with your friends or colleagues for the last five minutes. Be dedicated to be authentic and give all that you can in this moment. When you are at work, focus your attention there, when you are with your child, do not think about work. Being present is so crucial to benefiting from the magic that lives and is longing to emerge right now.

Nike expressed this concept best when their advertising campaign stated, "Just Do It!" Get started on that dream, the letter, the yard, the great things you are waiting to have happen. Consider breaking your projects into smaller ones. In other words, rather than waiting for vacation to read a good book, read a chapter a day. You can read a few books a year this way versus never reading at all. Instead of waiting to redo your home, do one area at a time. Remember to keep it simple. If we make a new idea overwhelming, we will not start or if we do, we will not finish it.
