Positive Self Talk Affirmations and How They Can Make You Money

juliem12.1

Positive self-talk affirmations are one of my secret weapons in building wealth.

I talk a lot about dealing with what I call, “crabs in your bucket”.

These “crabs” are negative words, actions, and vibe-killing thought processes from other people that cause serious damage to our self-image, dreams, and big goals.

These energies get their claws into the deepest parts of your psyche, tearing you down jab by jab, reversing any progress you’ve made, and knocking you back down to where you don’t want to be.

The truth is, though, sometimes we are our own worst crabs. And I think this has a big part in how we speak to ourselves.

Our self-talk is truly the gateway to what our future could hold. I believe, and know, that we speak things into existence.

For example, if we tell ourselves that today will be a bad day, then we more than likely will experience a bad day.

If we say to ourselves that we can’t do something, then we’ll never attempt to do it.

So, how are you talking to yourself? About your job? About your finances?

If you’re speaking negatively to yourself and into the universe, you can expect negativity in return.

To cultivate lasting wealth—both inner and outer—we have to start talking positively to ourselves.

How do you do that?

I like to start with positive self-talk affirmations.

In today’s post, I want to talk about what affirmations are and how I’ve used them to attract money into

my life.

But first, let’s discuss what positive self-talk affirmations are.

What Are Positive Self-Talk Affirmations?

In psychology, self-talk is believed to be a combination of conscious and unconscious beliefs and biases that we hold onto. It can be either negative or positive and influences our behavior in many ways you may not even recognize.

One of the first steps you can take to change the way you talk to yourself is by building awareness around what you’re saying. This helps you start making the changes you need to take on your goals around money.

For example, if you constantly repeat negative affirmations to yourself about money, you might notice yourself saying things like, “I’m never going to have enough money to pay bills,” or “I can never seem to hold down a good job”.

When you notice that, you’re witnessing negative self-talk in real-time.

Another important thing to remember about negative thoughts is that our brains are designed to remember and hold onto the times we made a mistake or had a negative experience.

It’s common to keep replaying these negative experiences which in turn adds fuel to our negative self-talk.

On the flip side, positive self-talk helps us cultivate self-compassion for who we are and where we came from. It also helps us be more forgiven when we do make a mistake or experience a negative event.

Positive self-talk switches our narrative from “I can’t do anything right” to “next time I’ll do better”.

When we choose to learn from our mistakes, the way we talk to and about ourselves changes as well.

Positive Self-Talk Examples

Positive self-talk can take months to become habitual. I highly recommend putting these positive statements into work immediately.

Some of my favorite positive self-talk examples include…

  • "I forgive myself for any past mistakes”
  • "I’m a deserving human being”
  • "I love myself for who I am”
  • "I have permission to change my mind”
  • "I trust myself”
  • "I have the strength to make my dreams come true”
  • "I am proud of myself for even daring to try”

Anything you can think of that is a positive affirmation for making money is a great way to improve your roster of positive self-talk statements.

Flip the script and think positively about yourself by embracing the opposite of what your negative thoughts tell you.

Now that you have the basics of positive affirmations, let’s take a closer look at money-specific affirmations you can use to attract money by the wheelbarrow full.

My List of Positive Money Affirmations

I’ve spent most of my life learning how to use money as a tool to make my life and the lives of the people around me, better.

A big part of that process has been using positive money affirmations.

Just like positive self-talk affirmations, money affirmations help you focus on the positive aspects of your finances.

If you find yourself saying negative things about your finances, you’re preventing a steady stream of money from coming to you.

For example, maybe you find yourself saying something like…

  • I’ll always be broke
  • I won’t ever get out of the cycle of living paycheck-to-paycheck
  • Retirement is a pipe dream I’ll never experience
  • I won’t ever have enough to survive
  • Money is evil and it’s never been anything but a challenge
  • I don’t know how to manage my money

Each of these statements reaffirms a negative bias you have surrounding money.

So, let’s put an end to these negative statements.

And when you do, I promise you’ll notice an uptick in the money you have in your bank account. If you pair your affirmations with hard work there is no doubt in my mind that you’ll experience greater financial abundance.

Here are a few of my absolute favorite positive money affirmations:

1.  Abundance is heading in my direction, and I know it

2.  I fully accept that prosperity is what I deserve

3.  I deserve as much money as I desire

4.  I will no longer stand in the way of my financial goals

5.  Money comes to me in unexpected ways

6.  I am fully open to any way of receiving wealth

Put Your Positive Self-Talk Affirmations Into Practice

Money is well within your reach.

You just have to believe it.

Try just 1 of the affirmations I shared with you above and say it every single day.

Over time, add another, and another until you’re constantly saying positive things about money.

As you do, your attitude surrounding money will change as will the number in your bank account.
