It's easy to forget that we are all perfect in our own design. Sometimes we muck it up with habits and choices that do not serve us.
If we went beyond thinking, feeling, and sensing right now, what would remain?
I invite you to try this exercise for a moment. Close the eyes, relax, and see if you notice the still, silent center within you.
Notice the balance and equipoise.
Notice the stillness.
Activities may still be surging around you. Your mind may indeed be thinking and feeling. That's not a problem. Going beyond the mind does not have to mean silencing it.
Notice that the stillness always remains, even as activity continues. Sometimes it's in the foreground. Sometimes it's forgotten in the background.
Now let yourself go into that stillness. Fall into it, gently, without an agenda.
It deepens. It permeates the mind. Boundaries melt.
You are falling unto your self.
This stillness is the gateway to our true nature. The gate is plain. There are no fancy markings. It is so simple that it is often missed.
As one approaches the gate and glides in effortlessly, a band might play. Fireworks may go off. Movies might run. All of these may come, and therefore all of them will go.
Your true nature is profoundly simple and simply profound. It is not found in the complexity of philosophy, the rigor of strenuous practice, or the measurements of science, though the mind may enjoy chomping on these bones.
It is found by falling in love with the simplicity we all share.
