Stilling Your Soul in Troubled Times

Stilling Your Soul in Troubled Times - John Holland

First of all, let’s all pray for peace in Ukraine and ask God to watch over everyone and keep them all safe.

As a sensitive soul, you’re probably feeling pretty stressed and anxious. The best way to center yourself is to ramp up your self-care. Here are a few tips that may help:

  1. Be aware of your feelings. Don’t ignore these deep emotions, embrace them instead. If you feel like crying, go ahead and let your tears flow. Releasing these emotions is always good for the soul.
  2. Step away from technology. Limit your time on social media and watching the news. Give your mind and soul a break. Pray for peace, instead.
  3. Be grateful! Even in the darkest times, there is so much to be thankful for: The volunteers in bordering countries who are helping these Ukrainian families. The world leaders coming to their aid. Count your blessings every day. List what you’re thankful for. When you welcome each day with a grateful heart, you’ll fill your soul with optimism, hope and peace.
  4. Be kind to others. Help a friend who’s also struggling during this time. Call someone who’s alone. Pray together. Give to a good cause. Give to organizations offering support to Ukraine. Nothing will uplift you more than lifting the spirit of someone else.
  5. Be kind to yourself. Check in with yourself daily. What do you need most? Do it! Imagine breathing in peace and calmness, and breathing out stress and anxiety. Allow this quiet time to touch the depths of your being and refresh your soul.
  6. Keep moving! Go outdoors and breathe some fresh air. Exercising or just taking a walk around your yard can reduce anxiety and enhance your well-being.
  7. Keep praying and affirming! Send your prayers and positive thoughts out into the Universe to touch another soul today. God, bring us peace. God bless our world. I am a beacon of love and light. I am a peaceful soul. This will cause a ripple effect that can reach further than you can imagine.

JOHN'S MESSAGE

We may not have control over such horrific events as war and turmoil in our world, but we do have control over our precious souls. Let’s use our soul power to take care of ourselves and each other. Let’s send peace and love through our thoughts, actions and prayers to Ukraine and wherever else it is needed. We have the power within us to change lives and help change the world. Take good care of yourselves, my dear souls. Together, we’ll get through this.
