What’s Keeping You From Being Happy?

Life is Fantastic! Nature is teaching us in every way. Just this morning I saw the most beautiful rainbow, between the clouds of rain. Life is fantastic and I am so happy. I don’t need to justify it, or apologize for it. I am just happy. And, I think what’s keeping you from being happy too, is the fact you feel it’s not okay to be happy. As much as you want to be happy and want to feel a sense of joy everyday and feel a sense of vibrancy and aliveness, you won’t let yourselves have it because it’s raining in everyone else’s reality while you’re living in the world of rainbows. 

You need to realize that people are exactly where they are, just as you are where you are. It’s time you write yourself a happy permission slip. Where you would ordinarily pretend to be miserable, or pretend to not be happy by dimming down your happiness in the presence of other people, I want you to not be afraid of being happy. 

It takes courage to be happy when everyone else is miserable. In a world of people that are unhappy, disenfranchised, discontent, it takes courage! Why? Because they will judge you for being happy and will make you wrong and will further reject you and abandon you. But this is where we have to begin to no longer pay attention to what’s happening outside of us, and begin to determine our internal state from within our own beings. 

We need to get to a place where we are happy. It has nothing to do with the person’s circumstance, what you have or what you don’t have. Life can be challenging and life can be difficult and you can still be happy. It depends on how you want to spend your time. In the end we are all going to die. You can be miserable and be unhappy and unresolved or you can go through life with a smile on your face and then leave the planet. It’s up to you. 

Resting in the awareness of your breath, transforms your life into a living meditation.
