It's easy to forget that we are all perfect in our own design. Sometimes we muck it up with habits and choices that do not serve us.

Your Home Is With You Always - For It Is the Light of Your Inner Sanctuary

It is a powerful word, a word which, for me, simultaneously evokes a vision of material structure and a feeling of inner sanctuary.

These months of the pandemic have been challenging for many. And I am well aware of the emotional weight resulting from loss and fear. Here in our own Humanity’s Team work environment, there have been several stories of illness and death related to the coronavirus.

My heart is open and full of compassion and love for all those affected and struggling.

I also can’t help but notice with these many months of sequester and seclusion, that life seems to have provided a material answer to a collective yearning for home in a spiritual sense.

What is this call to go home, to be home, and to feel at home?

Why do so many feel a lack, a sense of something missing, no matter how many goals they achieve and how much friendship and love they may have in their lives?

I believe it’s because people still look to the external world for their peace. They’re stuck on a perpetual seesaw of ups and downs, highs and lows.

But that world of perception will always have the potential for drama, conflict, judgment, and dissatisfaction.

True peace, the peace that surpasses understanding, is from within.

It is housed as an inspirational, inner light that can be seen both with our spiritual vision and our physical sight.

It is the Divine Life flowing through each one of us, uniquely different in form, but divinely inspired in expression.

I’ve always appreciated the way the great mystic and teacher, Paramahansa Yogananda, spoke and wrote about this eternal, inner peace.

I, in everything, enter the Great Myself.

Gone forever: fitful, flickering shadows of mortal memory;

Spotless is my mental sky—below, ahead, and high above;

Eternity and I, one united ray.

A tiny bubble of laughter,

I Am become the Sea of Mirth Itself.

—Paramahansa Yogananda, an excerpt from the poem “Samadhi”

If you’re ready to get off the roller coaster of drama and unsureness, I invite you to join with me in consciously carrying Home with you always. This is an ancient, timeless Truth, spoken about in Sacred Text, mystical literature, and poetry describing the natural world.

Each of us has the potential to live this Truth and carry it into the world as an example of the Divine lived experience. We can do this gently and with respect for all people and opinions. No exclamation point needed…
